Good price.

Cold. You're better off getting the mini 2 32GB for the same price.

Anywhere, £279 is the rrp. It's £8 cheaper than I thought.

Is the right answer

Absolutely no point in the Mini 3, almost identical to the Mini 2 spec wise but far more expensive

Yeah £100 more for a fingerprint scanner compared to the ipad mini 2

If I'm looking right, theres a few coupons on tesco direct so extra £20 off over £199, so would be £259,.. even better!

Currys , PC world have 32 GB iPad min 2 for £259

Haven't they ALL got "wi-fi" ? oO

the worst upgrade apple have ever done, as mentioned, only two differences between the 2 and 3.

1 - Fingerprint scanner
2 - A gold model is on sale

PhilK

No some come without it so you just use it like a leapPad

It's called marketing, Milord. Works better than 'iPad with NO cellular' ;0)

completely agree -16gb is not enough and no point to the mini 3

I just phoned John Lewis ( 3 year guarantee) to price match Currys , they wouldn't entertain it !

You could use O2 Priority Moments to bring that down further.

i was looking at that but theres a code for £20 off the 279rrp. and says not to be used in conjunction with any other offer.

Thats my xmas sorted

Does it really matter if in your opinion the mini 2 is better value?
Thanks to the original poster, I need to get one of these for my partner for her Christmas and 30 pounds is a great saving.

Could have saved yourself a further £70 if you went for the mini 2, but I'm sure that touch ID is totally worth it.

Whether you think it's worth it or not is absolutely irrelevant. This is a site designed to save us money and the original poster has kindly informed us that there is a deal available to those who want to purchase this particular device.

As far as I can tell you can't use the O2 discount on the £20 off iPad at currys or PC world. Says in the small print that the £20 off isn't valid with sky other offer.

*any not sky

Paid £250 for an iPad Air from Tesco, much better deal no? And before anyone says it was a refurb it was new

It's not really a case of value, it's whether you want to spend £50 more for touchID or 32GB storage. Everything else is identical.

16gb is ok for most people

Even Mac World UK is recommending you buy the iMini 2 instead.

Right. So when they're advertising cars they should say "Comes with WHEELS !!!"

TBF, i'd get the 3 as apple updates are designed to make your device last around 2 - 3 years. Little difference really between both software and tablets though. Final verdict: If you only want a short term device - 1 - 2 years, go for the 2 otherwise, choose the 3.
In my opinion, I think the 3 looks much better

I paid £259 from John Lewis for a iPad 2 32gb and also got a free 3 year warranty included

Not sure I see your logic, the Mini 2 & 3 both have the same ram, processor, screen etc and are just as capable as each other re software so will likely receive the same updates hereafter. Just the touch ID on the 3 if you want to pay extra for that go for it.

Apple would have a lot of fallout if they tried to pull that, seeing as they're almost identical.

My daughter is only 7 and has asked for an ipad (she uses them at school). Anyway going round in circles. I just don't know which ipad to get her! I only wanted to spend £250. Any suggestions?

If you really want the Mini 3 the 64gb is available from Tesco for £359 (saving £40 on the list of £399) using code TDX-MPY (valid until 27 November, which is the day before Black Friday, let's see what the prices are on BF). The 64gb Mini 2 is discontinued and sold out everywhere.

Best option, £259.

its enough for most people if they don't want any games or movies on it

Currys are doing £20 any ipad both in-store and on-line with the code IPAD20A.

You can reserve and collect in store if they have the model you want and if you mention the code they'll take the £20 off.

My local PCW had lots of silver and space grey 32Gb models for £279, so £259 after code applied. If, like me, you have someone that works for Carsons Dickphone, you'll get an extra 10% off the voucher price - making the 32Gb model £233.10 - as the voucher counts as cash and is applied first - before the Family discount.

Be aware that the £20 off code only lasts until tomorrow (Wednesday 26th) according to the sales person.

Well happy with a Mini 2 32Gb for £233.10 brand new although I realise that this deal is only so good because of the Family Discount card and for most people, the price will be £259.00

How much is the non wifi model?
