Apple iPad Pro 10.5" 64Gb - £499 (£399 with trade-in) @ in Currys/PC World

This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Further to the popularity of my previous offer, this one is also a similar offer but for the ipad pro..... Sorry team Samsung.... I am looking out for Samsung offers...

Anyway here is the offer.....

- Currys have the Ipad Pro 64 GB with a 10.5" screen for £499 reduced from £619 (spec below)....

- They also have an offer of £100 off this ipad on trade in If you take in ANY tablet under 7 years old and which powers up off its own battery (ie doesn't need to be plugged in to work). No broken screens / tablets are accepted.....

I got a trade in on a 5 year old mini android tablet that was on its last legs and it was accepted no questions asked. Online sites were offering me under £2 for my tablet or refusing to take it, so this is a good deal.

Whilst you cannot do this deal online, you can request a click and collect on the ipad and on collection take in your tablet for the £100 discount... There is plenty of stock, but i would still recommend doing this to avoid disappointment.

I believe there is also 1% TCB

Hope this helps someone.....

Specification.......

Top features:

- All-new 10.5” Retina display lets you see more and do more

- Powerful performance with the latest A10X Fusion chip

- Touch ID sensor lets you quickly unlock you iPad and make purchases

- iOS 11 will bring new features and capabilities

- Get the most out of your iPad with Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard

All-new 10.5” Retina display

The new 10.5" iPad Pro has a screen that's nearly 20% larger than the 9.7” model, so you can see more and do more. The larger 10.5” display means you can use a full-size onscreen keyboard, yet it's still ultra-thin and ultra-light.

Apple's Retina display has been redesigned – it's brighter, less reflective, and far more responsive than previous generations. Whether you're surfing the web or playing an interactive 3D game you can enjoy a smooth, fast, and immersive experience.

Sounds good... The question is, what's the cheapest tablet you can buy to trade in?

I would say look for one of those old android devices that power up but are too slow to use....

Otherwise look on ebay or in a charity shop for something for under £10

I traded in an old Tesco hudl for £100 off the 11inch iPad Pro a few weeks ago. They just check that it switched on then gave me a £100 off voucher (only to be used for the iPad purchase). I could’ve got £30-£40 for the hudl if I was lucky i reckon
I traded in a refurbished fire 7 for one of these on Sunday... the fire tab cost me £25 3 years ago so a great saving.

It was a toss up between this and the 2019 10.5” Air... After doing my research I decided the 2017 Pro was the better tablet for me. Two days of use and I couldn’t be happier, lightning fast and an excellent screen

An 11" model came out in 2018, I have just upgraded from this to that, negligible upgrade in my opinion, the 10.5 is still an epic device.

Spot on - iPadOS will close most gaps. Still prefer Android for media playback and file management but if I could only take one tablet with me for a task, it would be the iPad Pro 10.5” 2017 - better than the Air 3 (still a good device though). But as I rarely need to take just one tablet I carry this and a Sony Z3 Tablet Compact.

If you can justify the cost then buy this Pro 2017 over the budget iPad 2018, it is truly worth the extra.

PS it has a headphone jack!

What about the latest iPad mini? Or is that not worth considering?
Tbh, depending on what you want this device for - it's probably more a iPad Pro vs Surface Pro discussion than an iPad Pro vs Samsung discussion. The bog standard iPad is fine for most media, gaming and browsing tasks so if you're buying a Pro then it should be due to productivity or hobbyist activities (e.g. video rendering)... which are more directly comparable with Windows devices.

iPad has taken a LOT of sales from Windows PC's at the lower end of the market, which is why Apple are upping the ante with a more desktop focused iPad OS.

It’s the next one on my list to buy, depends if you want a small tablet. I think the price is outrageous personally... but it’s a very fast and powerful tablet, that A12 is no slouch, it’s just a bit dated design-wise.
Was tempted until I realised this is an old 2017 model. The newer ipad pros with face id are a hugh improvement.

They're not - I've just upgraded, and apart from it charging faster (if I use my MacBook Pro charger) I'm finding the differences meh.
Was just about to ask, how futureproof is this? I'm strangely tempted to get one despite not being sure if I need one.

It'll be OS supported for at least the next 3 and maybe even 4 years.

Wonder if this (2017) pro would support padOS?

From Apple website.

For media consumption in bed, reading e books and as a note taking device absolutely. I now have the Original 12.9 pro, 10.5 pro and iPad mini new version. Sounds weird but genuinely all have different use cases. If only looking to buy one iPad I’d go with this pro 10.5 model at this price. For reading (don’t do much on biggest iPad as too big Truetone is a game changer imho) This also has the better refresh rate and stereo speakers vs new iPad Air or mini. This is the best all round value iPad and has a headphone jack.

BTW Anker has just released a USB C to lightening adapter today. Might help you out as I was put off but Apple not doing the same for some decent lightening headphones I bought.
I tried to get this desk and was told in no uncertain terms Apple trade in HAS to be an Apple tablet.
I questioned it, was told absolutely 100% so bought from JL instead.
Since you pay during online checkout for the C&C option, do they then refund £100 in-store?
Tempted to order then try & source a cheap android tablet over the next few days
Damn! Here's me trying to find a really good deal on a new phone to save myself some loot and here is temptation thrust in my way!
...I really need a new iPad too!
Get the behind me Satan!
Seems to be a bit of a con.Just gone throught the Curreys Trade in link and received an offer of £2 for a working Amazon Fire & tablet!

I think you would be better buying the 2019 iPad Air, its less money, and has a faster chip.

Yes, it definitely does, as per the picture @mrcheerful posted. It's only been replaced because of the 2018 11-inch but it's still current, modern and more powerful than the iPad 6th gen (which was released after it).

Depends but the general consensus is no - Pro has quad-speakers, better display (120Hz ProMotion), faster graphics, more RAM. The Air 3 has a faster CPU only.

I like how the iPad has screen time and can block YouTube etc for the kids as well as putting a time limit. I think Android has similar but iPads it was.
Cold- as these two deals (iPad and iPad Pro could easily have been combined.
Do Samsung even have a tablet ? Bought the regular version of this for my partner and it seems really well made, although I'm happy with my Lenovo still

Just plomp in "Other tablet" and "Other tablet model" and hey presto - £100 guaranteed trade in when you buy an iPad Pro.

It's worth it for Apple just to get people to switch to iOS from Android or Windows.

For an artist the choice is very easy, the IPad Pro is amazingly good for any illustrator.
If the screen is smashed but it still powers on? Still slightly functional but digitizer is cracked, wonder could I get 100 off a pro
