I've been wanting one of these for ages (I currently have the first generation ipad mini). I'd be interested in hearing whether others think this is a good deal. I need something bigger than the 9.7 and I want a decent camera as it is usually partly in a work environment. I think this is the latest model with the latest chip but maybe someone more ipad savvy on hotukdeals could confirm before I order. There are other colours available, all within a few pounds of this one.

Yep latest model

Good price and great tablet. Not so much the retailer by all accounts. Some have been lucky and some have not received their goods weeks later.

They also have ipad 9.7 32gb wifi starting at £251.77 but that's a bit small in screen size for my needs, and the camera isn't as good. Someone has says eglobal ipads have a Japanese/Australian power adapter. That's fine for me as I spend a lot of time in New Zealand but others might not be as keen. Could someone who has purchased one of these let us know what power adapter it has please.

That's my only concern, but reading the reviews on their website for this product they seem to have received it quickly. I've no idea how Black Friday sale will impact delivery times as they may source them after order rather than holding a lot of stock.

coooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooold

People need to stop posting eglobal deals. Very bad company. Need to think of the long term issues not just the deal.

It’s a legitimate concern, but for Apple devices there is worldwide support, even if you buy it at this shop, you can still take it back to Apple for warranty

I went to apple in the end, after considering this carefully. Decided that its a lot of cash and wanted to be confident about the purchase. Good luck to those that try eglobal.

This. Apple warranties are worldwide and you never have to worry about buying "grey" products (eg, like with Canon lenses, where Canon UK won't service products sourced from Hong Kong). When the product turns up and it works, you're fine - any future issues will be dealt with by your nearest Apple Store/Certified Reseller.

I've ordered one so I'll put an update when it arrives, or doesn't arrive! Of course, I would have gone with John Lewis or similar instead of eglobal, if they had this at a similar price. One of the reasons I buy Apple is the worldwide warranty because I spend a few months in other countries at a time. I've never had any problems getting repairs done FOC under warranty abroad.

Why support such a bad company? This is what keeps them going.

Because they are not worse than Google and their business model is not to make money on your data like it is the case by Google. You should probably do a bit of research on the subject, it might change your view about the company.

This is due to be replaced in March with a much faster model according to macrumors buying guide.

Im going by friends experience and comments from other on hot uk deals. Taking money and not responding for weeks after being emailed and not knowing were you stand.

This is why I don't mind too much buying new apple products off eBay if it comes with a fat discount. Don't understand how the sellers can make it so much cheaper than rrp.

Maybe you should broaden your horizon and get the information from people who’s job it is, here, that should get you started independent.co.uk/lif…tml

Does anyone know if I was to buy the cellular version. Will it work fine in the UK? Thanks

Don't waste your money with these dodgy grey market retailers - not worth the risk. Remember if it's too good to be true it probably is..and with these scammers is usually is.

Not worth the risk for this sort of money. Much better to buy from a genuine trusted retailer..

This is how they grab people. Knowing everyone looks at the price first.

Spud 211 and The_Guru: Your experience of eGlobal is clearly very different from mine. Now made a number of tech purchases from them and have had no problem whatsoever. Items were as described, and delivered by major UK carriers from UK warehouses. eGlobal do their own VAT and Duty clearance, so there is zero chance of having to pay more to get your parcel.

I'm with you Kenneth, I bought an iPad 2017 128GB model in September for £329, less 5% Quidco which has already been paid. It came with a standard Apple U.S. charger in the box, with a shaver style UK adapter included in the outer package. it took about 5-6 days to arrive from memory and was delivered by DPD with tracking. Before I purchased, I emailed them my concerns about hidden VAT/import duty charges, but they were very responsive and replied telling me there was no possibility of extra charges. I then went on to buy a Gear S3 watch 2 weeks ago for £203 plus 5% quidco which has tracked correctly. It arrived faster than the iPad in around 4 days, also with DPD tracking. I know everyone's views are differ when it comes to value vs potential warranty issues, but until I have had a problem, I can only go by my personal experiences and will keep using them

I have been burned by them, and other grey market retailers before I wised up and decided to pay the extra to be safe. First time was a camera that arrived with no English manual, and no UK warranty - and they refused to refund or even talk to me about it when it broke 3 months down the line. Second time was a phone that turned up but had import duty applied & a customs handling charge...again got nothing back from them they just ignored me.

Most dodgy retailers will offer a mixture of service and you may get lucky, but you may not. Remember there is a reason why their prices are so low - and its not the fact they buy in bulk..they purchase wtihout paying tax in markets where the currency is so weak that the price is effectively lower, and then flog it over here undercutting UK businesses who have to pay VAT etc. It is possible they have improved in their service a little but even if so, grey imports are called that for a reason - its a grey area legally and is certainly against the spirit of the law albeit not the letter. Very much like purchasing your Xbox games from the Russian store - something else I won't do and have a strong moral objection to.

Now for Apple products, the saving grace here is that the warranty is valid as they offer worldwide support (although only 1 year rather than the 2 years that you now get within the EU).

Ultimately you pay your money and take your own risk, I can only offer an opinion it's each to their own

As I said, Spud, eGlobal pay UK duty and VAT. Were you not aware that Hong Kong sourced items would be unlikely to have UK manual / warranty? Some Hong Kong based suppliers (Panamoz is one) now have an arrangement with Canon UK that they will honour warranty claims. But as you say, it's each to their own, and I am happy to buy from companies such as eGlobal, Panamoz and OneStop Digital.

I bought mine fro AO.. got extra discount on top of Black Friday deal as new customer.. win win!

Sorry forgot to say I paid £549

Just thought I'd add to this thread, ordered an IPad Pro 10.5 from Eglobal last week. Unit took 8 days to arrive (ordered Sunday) arrived just now, Monday week via UPS insured. IPad is fine, comes with a foreign power adapter as mentioned above. Good email communication from Eglobal on order progress and shipping, can't fault from here.

Currently 3.5% Quidco don’t forget people.

I ordered one on Friday.. Still showing as 'Processing'. How long did it take to actually dispatch?

According to the email they send it takes 48-72hrs to go from processing to in transit, then 3-4 days to arrive

ordered one on sunday

Just bought one! Thanks! Great price + quidco too

I forgot about the Quidco when I ordered mine!

Works out cheaper here bhphotovideo.com/c/p…tml
but not 100% if there will be any customs charges on delivery. I know they only charge $5 for delivery if product over $250 which it is.

Anyone any ideas?
