Based in Hong Kong so beware of slow delivery and apparent poor communication. I'm on the look out for an iPhone 11 but think I'll wait for a deal from a more reputable seller.

I think it costs at least £200 for the 2 years and the fact if you buy direct from Apple most of what’s covered will be covered anyway apart from things like damage and anyone spending this much on a phone and not getting a case and screen protector is mad. So really if you wanted better cover pay the extra £70 and buy direct from Apple instead of £200+ for Apple care. Also a lot of house insurances will cover loss, theft and damage anyway so that’s worth a thought as well.
Heat for the cheapest deal yet however I’ll stick with previous best £656.10 from Curry’s Ebay with coupon.

How about being taxed by UK custom? Possible?
I have purchased an Ipad from them with no problems in the past but over a week ago I bought an Ipad Pro, since then I have been sent 2 emails nagging for payment of an insurance service I didn’t opt in to and the Ipad still hasn’t been dispatched.

There's several problems with this.

1. People have a bad habit of only reviewing a negative experience.

2. It's not a guarantee by any stretch of the imagination you'll get a good experience but merely an indicator.

3. Trust pilot themselves are somewhat shady as I remember.

4. Myself, @MrSwitch any many other active posters have had a great experience with eGlobal AND saved money. Make of that what you will.

Tbh it's global 1 year warranty with Apple anyway.

Extenuating circumstances are possible and can happen to anyone? Maybe ala the first buyer of the iPhone X or whatever in Australia drops their phone on to the floor?

I agree about the home insurances etc. Just got to pay the excess though.

Yeah I mentioned the same thing a few posts ago Apple aren’t stupid, the screen actually looks great it’s just not as good as the oled and camera is good but not many people need the super camera of the pro so this phone for the money is better value, I just prefer knowing I’ve got the best available at the time so get the better models and watch movies on phone which oled is definitely better for.

Yeah I think my excess is only £70 though on house insurance and you still pay an excess with Apple Card, house insurance didn’t change in price by adding phones either so far better choice although if you do make a lot of claims I’ll sure premiums will be affected. In all the years I’ve had phones I’ve never smashed a screen and dropped them 100s of times, my daughter smashed 2 screens and both times were when she had a broken tempered glass protector that I hadn’t replaced. So work of warning as soon as screen protector breaks, replace it!!

Remarkably, according to GSMarena and their review of the phones. The 11 has slightly better battery life than the 11 Pro. They both lose out slightly to the 11 Pro Max though.

It’s actually got a bigger battery and with the less features gives better battery life, the lcd screen uses far more battery than the oled otherwise the battery on the basic 11 would be amazing. The 11 though is a lot bigger phone compared to the 11 pro even though screen is only .3” bigger the basic 11 has big bezel compared to the pros almost screen to edge display. I’ve never had a phone doesn’t last a day so to me the only difference would be how much battery is left when I put it on charge daily, until they make phones with batteries that last a good 2 days battery is pretty irrelevant.

Tear downs revealed its got a similar sized battery to the 11 Pro? Roughly around 3000mah to the 4000mah on the 11 Pro Max?

I've heard OLED is more power efficient only when showing black otherwise it uses more energy than LCD? Just what I've heard. I like LCD technology tbh. I like that most LCD screens from Apple are durable, flat and colour accurate. The curved screens on Android are slowly driving me away from the platform. Even on my OP7 Pro, I do not enjoy the curves. I hope Apple never ever adopts this ridiculous trend.

Oled screens are far more immersive and much nicer to look at . The Samsung screens are amazing at full resolution and would be no going back to lcd for myself .

I hear you. I've had OLED display for many years across several phones. They're good but then Apple LCD is also good. I don't think I'll go back to LCD either but because they're no longer used in top end devices any longer even the cheap Chinese phones use OLED display.

Luckily I bought my daughters phone on the work tech scheme like the cycle to work scheme so it got covered by insurance and was fixed for free twice and the actually changed the battery too for free while they were on. I think that’s why I got complacent with changing tempered glass protector. I must of changed 50+ over the last few years on our 4 phones and for £1 each it’s totally worth it. Especially since full screen iPhones cost a fortune now for screens

Yep .. Shame Apple have stuck with the hideous over big notch coupled with an lcd screen , not to mention the horrible lens cluster.
Hope the next models are a huge step up in aesthetics cos this lot are indeed iugly

I don't use OLED because it isn't RGB, I hate diamond PenTile pixel layout and the green haze it causes on text never-mind the burn-in caused by its organic nature. OLED is only a stop gap until we have MicroLED.

Burn in seems to be hit and miss. I've never experienced this across a lot of devices. Depends on usage. Not sure who uses pentile pixel layout other than Samsung? MicroLED is the way forward but when it gets here is anyone's guess.

You gotta admit when the resolutions so low that it has the same pixel per inch as the iPhone 4 we got issues. Apples gotten lazy since Steve jobs died.

Oh and yes it uses the same LCD technology. If you're gonna say 'oh its a bigger screen' iPads with triple the screen size have cost 1/3 the price
