What were they thinking? I'm thinking they were thinking, "let's have an easy year this year before the iphone 12 redesign and reuse some of the unsold phone bodies from last year, add a ugly camera square, chuck in the new chip and cameras and watch the monies come rolling in." (only joking Apple fans)

Is that the actual device photo or one of the cheap chinese knock offs? looks like the latter.

Personally if I was an apple fan I'd be rather disappointed that this was the best they could come up with. Aesthetically it looks like a step back on the design front.
However people like what they like and it's their money to spend as they please.
has anyone tried if it works?
Think this will go scorching hot.

Add in the massive holes on the Safari browser and the Chinese variants, plus the security, look like a better deal all the time
I think it looks alright. Nice and simple and the screen is the main part anyway.

Yes, you have 12 months to pay interest free. Then its like 40% apr if you dont pay it off before then
Can you pay it off straight away once the credit account is set up?

I will never own a phone with a notch in the screen nor a curved screen either..it's frankly ridiculous and reminds me of an old CRT. But 10% off a brand new release is a good deal even if the thing is imho overpriced by a few hundred notes.

All new MacBooks are USB C. So you can bet Apple have considered it. That said Lightning cables have to have an Apple chip (yes you get clones but they often fail after an update) in so that respect it may be money related so they can sell more lightning cables.

None expandable memory isn’t really an issue as much as it used to be with cloud and streaming and 5G,Meh. It’s only being rolled out in a few towns. It won’t be too commonplace for a few years and by that point people will be looking to upgrade anyway.

This is tge 3rd use of this form factor and design. I guess Apple will make the big changes next year.

Yes but if your gas hob stops working you can flip this over and use it as an electric hob
Voted cold by default, downvoting Apple deals on HUKD being one of few pleasures left on this life, only to discover that it's not a bad deal, after reading specs.

Apple is now firmly in 2 markets, £600 and £1000. That means price premium over Android has narrowed, Apple brand worth less now. Services picking up the slack, that's new strategy. Streaming fight with Netflix, Amazon etc, we shall see, Apple Music not doing bad, even though not Chromecast compatible - and nearly everyone has Google/Alexa compatible speakers...

They have a hard fight to outweigh Google and amazon in the smart market..

As for streaming, an even bigger fight I believe, big brand names in the streaming market, doesn't necessarily mean a win.

They should have partnered with Disney, a company they're close to (Steve Jobs used to sit on Disney's board) instead of going it alone.

Every company/individual, even banks/celebs, especially in U.S., likes to associate with Apple - however fact is, new dual price point devalues brand, some shareholders might not be very happy about it.

Biggest cock-up, missing 5G train, so hurtful to Apple's pride I suppose, see themselves behind competition...

That's the thing, in one way or another, apple have always been ahead of the game in some way, by not introducing a 5G capable handset, at the back end of 2019,is frankly ridiculous for one of (if not) the biggest company in the world.

And, the most recognised brand.
so erm might creating a 2nd account using different details might work for this? If an individual was not a new customer (and was so inclined)

Um, a different card with a different name on it, getting delivered to a different address may work, something I've never done, and wouldn't encourage others to do
Still rocking the notch. No thanks Apple. Certainly no longer the hardware kings, older phones like S10 are superior and cheaper.

Incorrect, they've always marketed themselves as being ahead. The last innovative thing they did was the original iPhone.

Apple always sit back and wait a year or so before new tech settles down. With 5G being so new, they were never going to jump in straight away, it's just the way they operate.
