Following up currently popular iPhone 5s New & Refurb on O2 Refresh, you can also buy an iPhone 6 16gb Refurb for £261.99

Simply scroll down and select £38 tariff with £69.99 up-front

Its Device Plan is only £8/month so call O2 as soon as you receive it, to unlock it and cancel the Airtime Plan

So work out only £261.99 = (£69.99 + £8 x 24) for a like new phone! Yay! :-)

Update: Not sure if the Three SIM trick will work for this as well. You can simply insert Three SIM very firstly to activate the phone and voila!, it's now unlocked and no need to call O2

iPhone 6 64GB and 128GB best deals would be £419.99

I'm not sure you can cancel and keep the phone. You can pay it off early however

O2 Refresh is different to all other networks phone plan. Phone Plan + Airtime Plan = O2 Refresh. You can simply payoff the phone plan and cancel the Airtime plan without any penalty. I have 2 iPhone 5s - brand new bought previous months and cancellation is so easy - took ~10 mins for both.

Yes, you can keep phone. Numerous posts before have shown how O2 refresh works.
Interesting that it comes with a 12 month warranty - my 2013 refurb iphone came with 3 months' warranty. Not sure if there's been a law change or maybe these are Apple refurbs rather than o2.

I'd have to go on their site to have a look for you, wait a second isn't that something you can do yourself.

Their 64GB deals don't look that great anyway, £20/month phone plan

It depends on where you bought the refurb iPhones from.

I believe only mobile networks and large retailers are able to offer 12 months warranty. For O2 Refresh and my recent 2 iPhone 5s Refurb (actual New but being sold as such to make way for the SE), the warranty 5s is provided by Apple and the clock started counting as soon as I activated them.

I looked through a few of the tariffs but couldn't really see any value, thought I'd ask in case one of the other members spotted a deal.

Hi, does it come in original iPhone box with matching IMEI number & with original iPhone accessories or O2 refurb send these other brown boxes?
Original Poster
Only the iPhone and official USB cable. They come in generic mobile phone box. However, since it's purchased from official channel, O2 provided me with receipts and matching IMEIs - which are very useful for my mobile insurance with Nationwide current account as they confirmed to me they accept the O2 paper.

O2 refurbs arrive in o2 boxes not the original Apple box and I believe without headphones (possibly without the charger now too, not bought recently).
Thinking of getting my son this. Is it just a case of receiving the phone, calling o2 to cancel the airtime plan then keep paying the £8 per month ? Or do you pay the £8 per month in one go with the £69.99 and ask for an unlock code?
Thanks in advance

Get the phone and activate the sim in it, make or receive a call, call up and ask to pay off the phone, then ask for it to be unlocked and cancel the contract.

I'm sure the unlock for this will go much more smoothly compared to the recent iPhone SE deal on here.

Most networks do not unlock new iPhones within 6-12 months, iPhone 6 is 2 years old, so should not be a problem at all : )

FYI..this will leave hard footprint on your credit file.
Why wreck your credit history for an iSheep? Baffling.

Yes, it will leave credit footprint. But I personally experience that it does not impact that worth to worry about, unless it were for credit card application or worse you missed payment(s). I was once rejected by EE few years ago but accepted for credit card w £10k+ limit.

Why would taking out credit wreck your credit history, if anything it would do the opposite. Unless you plan on missing payments or are already too highly leveraged.
I really don't understand the credit check fail. I have paid my morgage off, I pay my credit card bill in full every month and have never defaulted any payment to anyone EVER.
Baffling
I'm confused it says £8 a month for phone but air time plan £25, then at the bottom it say £33 a month £79 upfront ?

Why not it does on ever their deal out there on refresh, the SE though is a brand new phone and at first there were no issues at all on that.

Taking credit and paying it off does not wreck your credit history unless I have woken up in a different time period. But hey I can't be sure as it took a full page of comments before we got a droid in morning as usual.

If you've paid the balance on the phone (£8 per month) you can cancel the airtime part (£25) without paying it off.

Correcto. Having a credit account on your credit file, that shows no missed payments, is very good for your credit history.

They clamped down on the SE as most companies don't unlock just released phones, there are other threads on here about them doing it with no issues since they stopped the SE ones.

O2 unlock phones for free regardless of if they're new/just released or not when the customer fully pays off the phone (the upfront + handset monthly part of the contract). Many people including myself on that SE deal thread have paid off the phone but haven't received the free unlock

Live chat said this to me...in relation to an iphone 5s.

Yes there is a charge for unlocking and the charge is £15. O2 Guru-Sumit • 1:22 PM
Non-iphones take 7 days to unlock and iphones take 72 hours. O2 Guru-Sumit • 1:22 PM
Ok and how is that to be paid, I read online that come people have it carried out for free • 1:22 PM
No you have to maintain £15 in your sim card and it will deduct automatically.
