Apple iPhone 6S 16gb £499 @ Giffgaff

The price is high but compared to the Iphone 6 16gb at £449 on giffgaff the 6S price seems reasonable. Maybe the 6 is about to get a price cut?

16 GB ? Hahah ...
£599 for 64GB model a better choice
16g is all some folks need.
Isn't this still about 50 quid cheaper than buying it from Apple?
& also you can pay over a period, rather than have to cough for the full amount in a oner.... Heat from me.

It's a good price for an iPhone 6S 16GB so hot from me but you can get better phones for around £300 IMO.

I'm not sure 16gb is enough , for anyone
Just make sure you don't set the date to 1/1/1970 because it totally destroys the phone, even the latest models of Ipads. I wish I hated someone enough to do it because you don't get a more annoying bunch than apple fanbois evangelists.

Be very protective of your Apple crap from now on because you may just lend it to somebody who IS willing to destroy your device by changing the date to 1/1/1970

Yep, 16GB is enough for some people.

No its not because the 16GB performs exactly the same as the 128Gb.
I've a 16gb one plenty for me, in saying that don't store music on mine
Clearing stock before the 5SE releases in about a month (yes, for the new release they're actually going smaller!)
I'd like to upgrade as I find 16GB limiting (I have a lot of apps and a lot of Spotify Offline Synced music) but will hold out for a better deal on a 6plus or something.

Sorry, couldn't resist. I hate myself now.
iv used 6.3 gb , and iv got like 20 songs 100 photos maybe and 5 short vids I took
16gb is not enough for me as with each update they suck out more memory.
My 5s 16gb is still going strong with plenty of room. I store all my music on a cloud which admittedly would push it over the edge. It just makes me keep my phone tidy by deleting all the rubbish apps that i try for a while then find i'll never use!.

This comment says more about you than Apple fanboys
Oh, this issue will no doubt be patched shortly.
16GB is not enough. Apple only make one so they can say iPhone "from" only £539. Add a dozen apps, a few hundred photos and OS update and zero space. The fact they dont even make a 32GB SKU and force your hand to 64GB reinforces even apple thinks you need 64GB these days.
Guess we can thank the large Megapixels and sloppy coders.
£500 for a modern mobile with 16gb? Not voting either way but I wish consumers would stop being silly and handing over their hard earned money
Do you have to buy a goodie bag at the same time as the phone? If you do can you cancel it straight after and not get charged for that bit?

Lots of people don't use much storage. The SKU exists for people who just like to use FaceTime, iMessage etc and stream content such as Spotify and YouTube. For city dwellers or those with basic needs, cloud storage and streaming can be very effective.

I have a 128GB phone but I can manage fine with 16GB if I want to - all my photos are sent to Google Photos, which has a 'delete photos from my device' options (I do this every few weeks anyway). It also backs up videos and all frames in bursts.

Most of the things I store are there 'just cos': I rarely actually use the things that take up the most storage. I mostly stream YouTube and download podcasts with Pocketcasts - podcasts take up very little storage.

There's also the huge enterprise sector that uses iPhones - they don't even need more than 8GB of storage, never mind 16GB, and in that environment margins add up. Why give millions of enterprise users 32GB phones for the same price when they don't need it? In the long run this equates to millions of pounds in lost profit, and - like it or not - but Apple has shareholders to please. Even £1 in losses in a quarterly earnings report spells doom and gloom for Apple in the media.

Remember also that no one 'has' to buy this storage size. There are, I'm sure, people who buy 16GB phones unwittingly but I think most people know if they are big gamers or Spotify downloaders these days, and it is the job of phone sellers to help assist customers in deciding the best storage size for them - whether or not they do their job properly.

I used to buy 16GB iPhones because I didn't think the cost of upgrading to 32GB was worth the money. With the iPhone 6 Apple charged the same price for a 64GB 6 as they had previously charged for a 32GB 5S. I then thought the price difference was more justifiable.
so 16 gb is ideally reserved for specialist market

but instead apple are happy to flog off to unsuspecting bargain hunters

their cashing in on increased memory has always stank imo
I have a Samsung S6 with 32GB. I've just checked and I have nearly 21GB free. It's annoying that I had to pay for 32GB when 16GB would have been ample. Rip off Samsung.

Apple sell all the options. They can't be held responsible for people making the wrong decision - especially when these aren't even being sold by Apple.

That's hardly fair. I would have jumped at the chance of a 16GB version for £50 less and I am sure others would have too.

That is hypothetical as we don't know what Samsung would have sold it for. If it had been a £50 difference then I'm sure others would have snapped up the saving. But as 16GB of high quality NAND costs less than £4 at RETAIL prices I think it makes sense for a manufacturer to increase the retail price of a premium £400+ phone by less than 1% to double the storage and give it a decent headroom for years to come.

Not giod analogy i think, perhaps a better one would be buying an suv with 200l boot aka not too much space:)

No, it doesn't "completely destroy" anything, there's a very easy fix, unclip battery and wait 2 seconds, reclip battery, problem solved.
