Ok so be nice because I haven’t added any deals in a long time but if you buy the 256gb iPhone 8 and Beats Witeless headphones, John Lewis will give you &35 off. 2 year guarantee in both + if you have John Lewis credit card you get cash back on it (turns to vouchers to use in Waitrose or John Lewis) I checked with Apple they snd Argos said 1 year guarantee. And beats are more expensive there.
Is it hot??🤔 I store and online. We wanted the gold wireless and rang up store in leeds who managed to get us some from Oxford store. Free delivery!

Price in title should be £913 as that's the deal;
£829 (phone) + £119 (headphones) - £35 (discount) = £913.

Better to get iPhone 10.
Not a bad deal as they rarely come up but the headphones aren’t the best and the saving is minimal relative to the total spend.

I like the iPhone 8 but really think it’s the 7s, and it’s been rather marred by the X - if you’re gonna drop all that money on an iPhone might as well go the whole hog
How much?! For a Phone?! I can use two cups and a length of string for 18p....When I was a lad...

It’s says so in their literature although admittedly, their staff will try and claim otherwise to try and get the AppleCare sale.

Yep, have some heat. Good ol’ JL.

Bear in mind that the beats are £119. I see this more as £35 off the Beats when you buy an iPhone 8. The 2 year warranty is definitely a big plus though.

Not really. If someone needs 256GB storage, decent warranty and a set of very nice earphones, this would be better value.

Surprised nobody has mentioned the small issue of the Intel bug!
Not sure if it still applies, but why not set up a Very account and get 10% cashback on any item when you do BNPL

Although this is not as good as the 20% they were offering end of last year...and it worked!

It’s not a big deal to be fair. When you read how difficult it is to exploit it and even if someone managed to exploit it what they can actually get their hands on, you’ll realise that it’s been hyped up a lot. Plus Apple are working on a fix anyway. I’d be more concerned with Facebook and other social media sites as they have almost all been hacked.

Does the iPhone 8 come with a 24 month warranty?

Just comparing iPhone 8 and Pixel 2 (that does come with a 24 month Manufacturers standard Warranty).

Thanks in advance.

Eh? It’s common knowledge. I’ll look it up now.
Anyhow back to reality, my experience of JLPs smartphone 2 year warranty is not good.

We took iPhone 6S to apple store, diagnostic carried out, advised to go back to JLP and they gave us a £9.99 'loaner' and took 4 weeks, yes 4 weeks to get iPhone 6s back.

Nice.

Not recommended.

Costco best.

Why would they on an iPhone thread? Happy to be corrected but a10x a11 etc are custom apple made chips so won’t be effected by that at all? In the same way snapdragons won’t...
Title a bit misleading unless I’m reading it wrong.

Don't bother, if your smartphone of choice is over £500 and DOES NOT include a Standard 24 Month Warranty then avoid.

Not specific to Intel, and not really anything you can do about it unless you avoid every piece of technology made in the past decade. Meltdown is already patched on iOS, and Spectre is hard to exploit and Apple have said they will issue an update for Safari soon to mitigate the exploit techniques.

They are affected, Meltdown and Spectre are vulnerabilities in Intel and ARM-based CPUs, fair bit of misreporting by the media the past couple of days. The only Apple device unaffected is Apple Watch.

Apple watch covered under warranty 2 years, all other products 1 year. UK consumer rights last for 6 years but good luck proving that the fault was present on the day you acquired the product.

Edit: oops, beaten to it.

Apple cannot make up random years you’re covered. 2 years under EU law is minimum.

iPhone being their best seller.

What a load of rubbish. It's 12 months

Look I'm a simple man, I like an easy life, I do not want to argue EU law in an apple store thank you very much.

Don't quote EU or 6 year, or JLP

Not anymore with the cup tax coming in
If you buy directly from Apple, certainly iPhones and iPads are covered for two years under EU consumer law, maybe longer. My iMac was repaired at 5 years old when I quoted EU Law & the service rep said the are likely to cover products up to 6 years old as long as they were purchased from Apple and had not had any work carried out by unauthorised repair centre.
Would you need the Beats if you already have the EarPods with the phone?
