Do you work for the eBay store? Or you guessing things and trying to present them as facts?
Appears to be sold out of all colours

I wouldn't look for one, but that wasn't my point. I just pointed out the florid marketing language and the gap you find often with reality. That said, this seller has a good reputation, I didn't vote deal down and hope everyone gets lucky (high risk of disappointment with grade C). Thick bezels look a bit bad today, solid phone otherwise.

You know this is an old phone right?

Of course and still costs 250 quid refurbished so comes into play at that price point. And looks ridiculous next to newer phones at that price point. Trying to excuse the massive bezels due to it being an old phone' when it costs 250 quid is not exactly the best argument...'

Edit: my Sharp Aquos S3 (cost 110 quid brand new) was released just 6 months after the iPhone 8, for instance.Has an almost 20% better screen to body ratio!

Looks ridiculous? You have been so completely suckered by phone manufacturers and you don’t even know it. The fact that you quote screen-to-body ratios make it apparent that you’re a GSMArena number cruncher and not someone who cares about usability. There are advantages to bezels if you’re a smartphone/multimedia addict like me. The iPhone 8 (and previous model) form factor is perfect for picking up a phone and just using it, grabbing it, not caring how you pick it up - no accidental YouTube skips, no false touches. I’m sure you’re just going to say you’ve never seen this and I’m an ogre but, whatever, there’s still validity to bezels and to be honest I kind of miss having some bezel and flat screen. I’m sick of curves and obsession with fitting as much screen in as possible at the expensive of usability, speakers, decent biometrics. Luckily Apple haven’t been ridiculous with their X line and still retain some side bezel - using my P30 Pro at times is infuriating.

We all prefer different designs but to claim the iPhone 8 looks ridiculous is, frankly, daft.

I wouldn't say it looks ridiculous. But £250, for a three iterations old, second hand, phone ..... that probably has a pretty well worn battery (which Apple are probably slowly hobbling even further)? Regardless how "premium" you think their build is, that isn't gonna help an old battery.

No thanks ....

Apple buyers are just nuts and the fact retailers are getting away with charging 250 quid for this is all the evidence you need. And i feel totally justified saying this on a bargain hunting forum.

They’re not ‘getting away with it’: people want them and choose to pay what they conceive to be their value. The iPhone 8 has a really good camera, a compact form factor, reliable biometrics, is part of a comprehensive ecosystem which many people enjoy using and it’s fast too.

No one is making people buy iPhones. Like it or not, people like FaceTime, iMessage, and the other apps and services within the iCloud framework; they like the way Apple devices work seamlessly with each other. Your Sharp whatever-it-is was I’m sure a bargain for the specs, but without even holding it I know I’d rather use an iPhone 8.

Do refurb phone usually have their screens replaced or do you think it would come with the original screen?

At this price, for a phone this age, I would want the screen and battery replaced with new. And the entire phone gold plated.

On a more serious note, I'd very much doubt it. Unless it came in with smashed screen, and thus had to be replaced for resale, it'll be the original one. Plus this is "Refurbished - Good". Which is effectively grade C!!!

Their describtion of the grade: "A good condition used product that will have signs of use including scratches and scuffs to the screen, back and sides. The product is fully functional and in working order."

Which, in my opinion, makes the £250 price tag even crazier!
These phones hold there value and are a solid purchase, i have bought one from them for my wife, try buying one through Shpock and they are between £250-£300 at least this has 12 months warranty, Apple products hold there value and a great camera,
I got one of these delivered today and I will be returning - I was expecting wear as described but the screen had a hairline crack in it and several large scratches - I would go for pristine condition for the extra or ride your luck and return as required.
i bought one in condition refurbished good. came with a massive crack down the side of the screen, crack across the top left corner and a heavily scratched back. having to return 😞
