iPhone 8 & 8+ is a gimick I won't be buying in to, the X's screen is as big as the 8+ without the extra fat......

99% of iPhone purchases won't bat an eye at that, why do you think it's £250 more and flying out the door?

Apple has nailed market segmentation since Steve Jobs catering for: wannabe iPhoner's (SE), feel like they are's (8's/+) and people who don't overly care about costs (X/10).

It's not actually. The diagonal might be longer but the surface area of the screen of the 8 Plus is higher than the X. It's much wider than the X and surfing is much nicer as a result. Though the X is better to hold with one hand.

Fair, the practicality of inefficient surface area is obvious however!

Yeh the bezel width is dated I agree. Just not sure if the X is worth the extra 240 with this offer, or extra 360 if you took advantage of the recent Very 20% off promotion. Millions disagree though as you say.

It's not the width for me, camera and home button without screen is wasteful now. Like you say, corner to corner (more important dimension) it's bigger and doesn't waste.

You’re missing the point, it is a great deal... for an iPhone.
For a smartphone, that’s more debatable
If you dont think you'll need the 2 years warranty, then they're cheaper (sim free) from giffgaff, £749 there (provided you have a giff gaff account - doesn't need to be one you use).

In reality, the usable screen is smaller in many applications.

My iPhone X went back after a week. The smaller screen (things like Youtube/Netflix etc) only actually use around 80% of the screen, coupled with the poor implementation of the OS making up for lack of home button (often needing more user input to achieve the same results on standard iPhones) was just too annoying. Ordered the 8 Plus after seeing this deal. Heat from me.

TIL that you could be a "wannabe iPhoner" while actually owning an iPhone. Turns out I'm a wannabe eater too as I've just had a caramac.

Yes agree that's the whole point with Apple products they scream look at me I've got plenty of money(SE), I've got money to burn(8's/+), I use £20 notes instead of toilet paper(X/10).

Always wondered if Apple charged a reasonable price say two thirds of their current price would as many people buy them suspect not it's one of the few products where higher prices lead to more people wanting it.
