Bought this last time this deal was on.
No sign on the product that this was refurbished.
Great deal!!!

Bought one of these and the thing froze after one day. There was a way to reboot it, but as the product was refurbished it was more likely that the insides had just been transferred to a new case and the underlying problem not fixed. Same thing happened with a refurbished TOM TOM. Be wary of refurbished products. Often a false economy. Lucky for the 1 year warranty, but still hassle nonetheless.

Does anyone know if these have the EU volume limiter on?

Great price for one of these and Apple and Apple refurb are great for customer service.

What capacity are these?

80 Gb

I just bought a 120Gb classic from Argos (had some Nectar points that needed spending) which I would imagine has the limiter. If you're using half decent sound isolating headphones (even my £15 JVC ones are too loud) I would be surprised if you had any problem with it being too quiet. I usually have it around 60% and that is plenty loud enough especially with Rock/Metal music.
I think many of the problems that have been reported are from people who want to blow their ear drums or are using the standard headphones you get with the unit. I almost didn't buy one because of the EU Limiter but I don't know what I was worried about.
If you went to Currys/Comet you might be able to get a listen, just take some headphones with you.

Erm, at max volume it's already too loud. If you want to pump the volume up so it's louder than the train, you should buy some decent noise-cancelling headphones.

Added advantage is that they'll almost certainly sound better than the crappybuds which ship with the iPod.

You just need to spend £200 on a sensitive pair of earphones like the Shure530's  I did, though as much as I love them I really shouldn't have....

I already bought one from my wanted thread, someone linked to this!
Great deal, i have heard great things about apple refurbs!

I bought one but have been rather disappointed with the sound quality - it lacks bass definition and detail at high ranges. the eq is pretty **** and only has pre-sets too. goes without saying to replace the headphones straight off as they are laughably bad.

that saying there's (unfortunately) no alternative at this capacity and its a good price - heat added

Now showing as out of stock.

surprised these went out of stock. They've been in stock for the past week or so no probs. Also, anyone wanting an Ipod Nano Apple regularly have the 4Gb refurb for £50-odd quid and the 8Gb for £70. I know, cos I bought an 8gb one this morning But they do go quickly, so check on the Refurb store every thursday morning - early on this morning they had the blue and the green but they went even faster than the black and silver

Back in stock again today in both black and silver at same price - £113.00
