Why cold?

Very expensive for a 8gb MP3 Player, I have posted recently a 16GB Sony, aluminium bodied, bluetooth compatible, and premium grade headphones from Amazon for £89.99

But it [Sony] looks cheap.

Of course, it's not Apple, everything to Apple owners that's not Apple looks cheap regardless of function.

Everything is compared to Apple. Whenever there is a new product it is inevitably compared to an existing Apple product, leading all the anti-Apple fanboys to start jacking off over it. Everyone feels the need to insult the products released by Apple and the people who buy said products. Why? Even Samsung have resorted to insulting the products and supporters of Apple in their recent adverts. It's just pathetic.

Why can't people just enjoy a product and accept that we have a choice? I will never discriminate because it isn't made by a certain company, but it seems that too many people pledge allegiance.

Hence why I don't buy Apple products, because I have a choice, and don't pledge allegiance to a brand, but to what i find best for my needs (hence why I would never buy any of the iPod range due to them not being very good sounding media players). I have yet to see an Apple product that isn't function over form and value for money, else I would consider buying an Apple product. There are plenty of Apple fanboys that do pledge allegiance and Apple marketing is clever in creating peer pressure amongst individuals that the products are "elitist"

I do not get along with OS X, I do like building and upgrading PCs without being tied into the costs associated with restricted hardware Macintosh has. I do not feel the iPad 2 is good value for money compared to dual core Android Tablets, or for that matter the iPhone compared to an Android Phone. As for Apple TV it has poor media support compared to devices of comparable cost.

Back to the main subject of this thread that you asked why the cold votes, well I don't speak for everyone, but personally why pay £105 for a MP3 player that sounds worse than one that costs £15 less, has twice the capacity, better build quality and decent earphones supplied as standard?

All you are though is a reverse fanboy. You're ABA (Anything But Apple). There are plenty of people buying android phones who think that as long as you don't buy Apple you can't be a fanboy.

The Sony MP3 player looks like rubbish though, so why would anyone want it? There is a reason that this costs more, and that reason is people will pay it. Does the Sony MP3 have a touchscreen? Does it have VoiceOver? Can it be worn as a watch? Nike+? If not, then this is justifiably more expensive.

No, I have already explained why I haven't found an Apple product so far that suits my needs.

I personally think it would be people being loyal to a company that would make them a fanboy, plenty of people prefer having Android as an OS because it is not locked down like iOS, that is a preference.

In your opinion it looks rubbish, why would anyone want it? Good price reduction on a MP3 Player with decent sound and decent headphones maybe. You know, that thing that MP3 Players are bought for..playing music.

Which model are you referring to? If you are referring to the NWZ-S765 then no it doesn't, the NWZ-X series (of which I personally own) does, not that it is an essential experience for listening to MP3s. The reason I paid for it was superior sound with the S-Master Digital Amplifier.

If that's what floats your boat go for it (if you haven't already bought it) Hence, what I said though form over function. All the gadgetry in the world won't improve the audio DAC. If gadgetry is what you want, then you can justify the expense only to yourself as Apple fans stereotypically do. And if you really want to compare on features, the Nano has no video playback at all. Voiceover is a very good feature for visually impaired people in its favour.

If I was in the market for a MP3 Player for £100, superior sound and video playback with good stock earphones vs touch screen and wear as a watch and poor earbuds?!?! To me personally there is no competition, but I don't want a MP3 watch or am I visually impaired.
