And wont get 13.

The 128Gb for £120 after discount is a better offer.

Get an iPhone 6. iPod has same specs as iPhone 6 except the iPhone has bigger screen + calling functionality.

Same price, sometimes the iPhone 6 is cheaper from resellers on eBay.

“Refurbished Excellent” 64GB IPhone 6. £96 with CODE “PAID20”

But you'd be recharging every day instead of once a week/month? I guess the question is, how long does an iPhone 6 last if you turn off data and wi-fi etc?

What are you going to use the iPod for if you’re using it once a month? The iPod has a smaller battery
Not using it once a month, charging it once a month. I have a iPhone 6 and it needs to be charged pretty much every day and I also have an iPod Classic 120Gb, which I use a lot and charge about once every week or two. My question was, can you make an iPhone 6 operate more efficiently by switching everything off and if not I think I would advise to go with the iPod which is clearly a better tool for the job and specifically will run for a much longer time before having to recharge.
Another option - buy a network blocked iPhone 6s/7 from eBay. These don't work with cellular so go quite cheap but are often in excellent condition and have much better specs than this (screen, TouchID, CPU/RAM etc).

An iPod classic is purely a music player, nothing else. An iPod touch can do everything an iPhone can, except calling. The iPods battery will need to be charged everyday if you’re using it everyday.
Good to know thanks, I'll stick with my classic and replace the hard drive on my backup in that case
I use my ipod Touch everyday to commute to and from work - so usually I do 2 hours minimum a day and usually charge every 3rd evening. I like the fact it is smaller than the iphone 6. I could just use my XS as my music player but like to keep the two things separate.
absolutlely shocking battery life on these
