Apple iPod Touch 8GB 2nd Gen (Refurb B+) - £69.98 @ Student Computers

Looks like Student Computers have yet another bargain deal on the Ipod Touch (they seem to have a habit of selling these at excellent prices)! Although these are 2nd Gen 2009 models, it says they have 'as new screens' with Ipod in B+ condition (I recently purchased one in A condition and it was absolutely pristine). Either way their customer care is second to none so if not happy i'm sure they'd do everything they could to sort out any issues.

Under £70 for an Ipod Touch seems like a bargain!

Amended! Thanks - sorry thought i'd included that, but it was in the URL, not the title.

i see it says 6 months warranty is that apple warranty or there own

its ok i see its there own warranty which can be upgraded to 12 months for £19.99

Must be desperate to be an iDevice owner to buy a b graded refurb, plus it states

Enough said then so they are not replaced or new as the OP states, probably the same goes for the battery, well used.

My typo on the screens - have amended to say 'As New', not 'Brand New'. With regards to the battery, "probably" = speculation and is therefore totally irrelevant, unless you have previously purchased a device from them and had this issue, which I doubt, as their customer service is excellent and they would have sorted it out for you without hassles.

Incidentally, a desperate purchase or not, I hope you voted HOT (_;)

As there is no mention of a new battery just like the 'as new' screen with marks I would take it that the grade B stock is to be fair well used. Been down this road before buying and selling equipment. Didn't vote as I am couldn't tell you if it was a fair price but the description is not fair.

You must be one loyal customer of theirs as you defend them so well plus your deals mostly seem to be for them, or are you affiliated with the company in some other way?

Oh well, i'm sure you'll agree that the amended description is now fair.I'm not sure about loyal customer - i've purchased an Ipod from them on a single occasion. I was however really impressed with the item, the price and the customer service I received when I needed to amend my delivery address ath the last minute. Feedback from others on here seems to support this.

Fair enough for not voting - each to their own, rather that than voting cold.

As for affiliations - unfortunately not, although if I keep promoting their Ipods then think they should give me a job! Seriously though, I just check the site every so often as they genuinely have pretty good deals, and posting those increases my somewhat pitiful rep on here!

This model is so slow compared to the 4th gen.

damn, was so tempted to pick one up for my gf until i read that

tbh she would only want it for music and to play dungeon raid though...

If I didn't just buy an iphone 3g for £100 I would've bought this. HOT

Don't let me put you off buying this, i like the snappy A4 processor apple has in its new devices but when i bought my iPhone 4 i could not use my 2nd Gen iPod Touch, it was too slow for me, Apps that run smoothly on the iPhone crashed quite a few times on the iPod touch & launching applications took 5-10 seconds compared to a few seconds on iphone, i know its not much but it puts you off using that app with its slow launch speed.

can anyone tell me if i can play downloaded avi/divx videos? Just want something to replace an old mp4 player but have heard apple put software on some products so that they only play stuff downloaded from the apple store?

Apologies for my ignorance!

£20 for delivery of an ipod to Northern Ireland but free delivery to the mainland. No sale.

There's no restrictions to just play Apple stuff. I'm not that knowledgeable on video formats so I wouldn't like to guarantee that it would play all your Divx vids, but when I had my iPhone I was always transferring my mate's films to it, and they were in all sorts of weird and wonderful formats. Never had a problem with any, and they looked great.

VLC App plays just about everything. Not sure if this got pulled from the App Store though.

The majority, or possibly all of the media players currently on the itunes store aren't compatible with the iphone 3G or older and the ipod touch either 2nd or 3rd gen or older so its worth doing a bit of research before buying one for that reason.

also this has now gone back up to £79.99, which is a shame as was about to buy 2 for my nieces!! linky
