Dammit! I bought this when it was £469 and was well chuffed!! Ah we'll! This is a hot deal for an excellent piece of kit, but will get voted cold by the Apple haters, of which I estimate 95% have never used/seen one of these!!

I whole heartedly agree lol, sometimes people need to come out lol, I have an ipad and samsung galaxy s3 (jelly bean) and love them both, still a good deal though
Can anyone suggest a £100-ish monitor for one of these things? Cheers!
If I am correct, this only USB 2 not 3 ports. If you go to the apple store then with 4 GB of ram and 2.5GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 you can get it for £499 - would this be worth the extra for the USB 3 ports and the extra ram? The version on the Apple store is also running Mountain Lion which is a later version of Lion.

yeah , i too got it for that price. the new one in my opinion doesn't warrant the extra 80 quid (compared to this price) for a slightly better processor and usb3.

it's hot from me , but like you guys say, its apple ,so will get marked down.
the people who hate this can not be bothered to tell us why it is not a good 'Deal'

they see the word apple and go cold on the deal

HEAT from me...
hot
Agree with susie apple directly £499 4gb ram and usb3 etc therefore this is not hot
Last years model hence the 2Gb of memory. Cold.

One of these would go nicely with it, they're no Cinema Display/Dell screen, but get good reviews considering the price. I bought one today based on the reviews for £132 delivered from eBay

To be honest the ram debate is irrelevant as neither 2 or 4gb is enough so you'll want to spend £30-£50 getting either 8gb or 16gb.

Depends what you're using it for? This 23" Dell IPS Display monitor is a good deal at £153

Yes. ML would not be a free upgrade with this as that only applies to refurbs bought from Apple directly. It might be worth hanging on till Black Friday as there will be a few quid knocked off the new Mini then to bring it closer to this price, otherwise £429 is not too horrendous for what you are getting.

I bought one from Amazon and upgraded it to 8gb via Crucial for just £30. Also it is eligible for the upgrade to Mountain Lion via the Mac App Store as I upgraded mine for free.

I managed to pick up a 23" LG IPS234 for £90 new via eBay. You'll probably be hard pressed to find such a deal again, but I can say that IPS technology is worth the extra, and in my opinion my new LG screen looked better than the 24" iMac screen it replaced.

got the similar dell 23 ips screen a few weeks back.
not worth the fuss. smudged text for web browsing. decent for videos and photos though.

Where did you read that Mountain Lion is only a free upgrade through refurbs from Apple. That's not correct. If you read here it states

Customers who purchase a qualifying new Mac computer from the Apple Online Store, an Apple Retail Store or an Apple Authorised Reseller — or an Apple Certified Refurbished computer from the Apple Online Store — on or after 26 July 2012, that does not include OS X Mountain Lion, can upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion for free.
early 2011 model? would rather pay an extra £70 to get a latest version.

Good price. Newer model is only £499 at full retail price though and has better processor, more ram and much better integrated graphics.
Voted hot.

Really not that much difference tbh. See this comparison
Nice computer, but simply not cheap enough against the latest model. Under £350 would be a definite deal. Cold.
