What is the betting that the OS is pirated I would say fairly likely.
Coldest.

Deal.

Ever.
Student computers are a reliable seller. But the HDD and RAM are ridiculously low sadly. Still hot deal if you must have a mac book

Studentcomputers are a solid reliable seller, would be very surprised if it is.

6 Month Warranty. Nearly all kit is Grade A... They get their stock through the Apple Recycling program.

2.16Ghz C2D
2GB RAM
160GB HDD
embarrassing deal!
I had a 1.8ghz processor in 2001.

I had a 1.8ghz processor in 2001.

Clock speed is irrelevant (Not totally, but these days it is), a C2D is still a good chip, and faster then most Atom's etc....

Below, i7 1.8Ghz.

o dear is it fair to anyone kid or not
Reasonable deal though the HD really is small. Voted hot though.
I have a MacBook older than this (Core Duo) and it still performs terrifically for its age - far faster than those awful netbooks, and ideal for basic tasks (all I use mine for)

Hot.

Slow, but at least has apple sticker on it, right?
Cold.
worst thing is the GPU intel 950 can't cope with any actual mid-definition video not even 720p
No OS X 10.8 compatibility either
This is a great deal! Show me a MacBook at this price. If you want faster then you have to pay more...
You would be insane to buy this antique, outdated piece of hardware for £249, when in the other thread you can get much more modern, powerful and durable (build quality!) T400 for 90 quid...
Scrap
Mac on a budget?

One word - Hackintosh.
How low are people willing to stoop for Apple?

I bought a 2009 macbook recently for £300 and put a crucial m4 in it... it boots up in 7 seconds and is nippier than my powerhouse desktop pc (obviously it doesn't have the power behind it)

I don't know how a 2006 one would perform but with an SSD i bet it's damn decent.
These are great laptops. I had easily upgraded the harddrive to 500gb and 2gb of memory. Ran super slick and was a jiy to use. Gave mine away to my brother. Wish I hadn't! Would buy another if Apple still made them. Not a big fan of the whole aluminium melarchy.

I gotta agree, this really confines it to doing basic tasks and at this price you can get a really decent notebook, albeit not mac. Something that can actually handle HD media files and the space to store it, with added benefit of basic gaming.

Plus it's hardly even worth pirating Lion, considering its price.
Double agreed on the 950 graphics card. The Santa Rosa models from 2007 onwards came with x1300 graphics that were significantly better, I think they can manage 1080p (with a lot of fan noise though).
There are some real idiots on HUKD these days, live and let live.
hate apple...this is a good deal...have some heat oO

190 deg and counting..... BOOM - Double fail!!
Would be nice if the people posting these deals could do a bit of research on the WEIGHT of the product. Likely the most important part of a deal like this.
So a second hand computer from 2006 is a "hot" deal for £250? Seriously, what is wrong with some people on this site? Anything 2013 tech-wise worth £250 will be a much better bet than this. Jeeeeeees.

40 negs out out 15432 transactions, post the full information if you want to actually help people.
£249 just so you can say you got a Macbook?

Spend your money on kit that's worth it.
You can get smart phones with better specs than this
I bought one of these in 2007 and its still working (rarely use it now though).
Can't really do much besides the internet and word processing etc... no gaming.

Really? No.
My 2.66Ghz Pro from 2009 still performs superbly. Windows truly sucks balls.
£250 would be good if it was new.
The Bear

Really? No.

I know the Note 2 is big...but it's not 13.3" big - they're saving that one for the Note 3

A smartphone with 2 USB Ports? I'm in ;p Where is it?
