This is from July 2011. Easiest way to tell is to look at the integrated graphics. All 2012 models have HD4000 whereas anything from last year will be HD3000.

This is the 2011 model. They easiest way to tell is to look at the integrated graphics. All of the 2012 Airs have HD4000 graphics, this one here at Dabs (when looking at the Specifications tab halfway down the page) says "Intel HD Graphics 3000".
This model is MC969B/A. Mid 2011 (old model)

However, cracking price (as far as Apples go....) for 4GB RAM and 128GB SSD. I've been using one as a daily driver for a year now and everyone loves it, only 1Kg to lug around.
this is a great price for a MacBook Air,it's the older model but the newer one isn't much of an upgrade really
isn't 11inches a little bit small though? I think it would be great if i could get the 13inch model for this price :P
use coupon bargain25 to get £25 off too

So Actual cost can be changed to £675.98

CODE BARGAIN40 works too for £40 Off even better. X)

Is this the model John Lewis were selling for £599 the other day? (I appreciate this is the best price for the old model currently)
Anyone know where you can get the 13" for this money?
Does this have an SD Card Slot?
It is a great price but the education pricing still beats this deal where a latest entry level 11" macbook will cost you only £730. Still a great deal for those who can't get the education pricing. Heat added

The HE student price for the new model is £800 so I guess it depends whether 3yr warranty and ivybridge/hd4000 is worth £140 to you.

Not especially, the 11" is a really great size and it makes it more useful because of its small size.

There are benefits to the 13" (Higher res screen, better battery life, card reader) but the 11" is an amazing sized machine.

Normally I hate Apple products but the 2012 11" Air is the one I own and use, and would never swap it for the 13"

Compared to other PC laptops for the same sort of price none will hold their value as well so ignoring the initial purchase price after a few years I will have spent less.

Runs Windows very nicely!
This is going to sell out in seconds.

Say what you will about the Macbook Airs, they're very solid machines (even if a little overpriced). For "only" £600 this is a decent machine and people in the market should seriously consider it.

So tempted but I dont need one, would be a silly bargain to buy
I got this from John Lewis yesterday for 599

LOL, you'd make a great sales guy, still 146 in stock...
not a macbook - cold!!
Im no apple fanboy and its obvious the hardware is overpriced... but when you take into consideration the software that comes with it... such as garageband which is unmatched in ease of use and quality then surely it evens out?

I have one (bought in Hong Kong for about £780 in March) and I love it. I was a bit skeptical at first with only 4GB RAM but I've been running Parallels with it, just so I can run Visual Studio (I'm a .NET developer) and I use it (in Lion) for Photoshop CS5 and all I can say is the SSD makes a huge difference. Build quality is excellent. The only thing I will say is the battery life is optimistic if you play any sort of media or have the brightness settings turned up.

Was contemplating whether to go for the newer model but it would have been mainly for the extra capability of another 4GB of memory and not the USB3 ports or slightly faster processor. In the end, after some heavy usage, I decided I could live with only 4GB RAM and will wait for the next update instead.
has anyone else noticed Windows smells a bitlike fish????
