Yeah.

An older version macbook that is upgradable and easier to repair, like Macbook 13 2013 recommended here.

Everything is soldered in as well. No way to upgrade.

Don’t buy this. I had one and it’s terrible. Really blurry webcam and the screen was horrific. Go pro if you buy

Bought the pro and sold it after few weeks because the machine would get hot very easily I got the first one replaced but the second MacBook Pro will also have same issue and the fan will go wild very disappointed to say the least

Since then I have changed back to the Acer 15 inch chromebook for less than quarter of the price of the MacBook Pro and I am very happy

I think this one mid2013 should be upgradable.

Agrade. 12month warranty

This covers which macs have upgradable ssd. 128gb just too small in this day and age. New processors at this level not signigmficantly faster.

everymac.com/sys…tml

Basically Apple do not want you to repair their macs. They are making it harder and harder.
I love my mac.
it’s light, it’s pretty and sleek.

No it’s not for gaming or watching films, it’s a work tool, it’s definitely only made as word processor with other capabilities as an add on to use in your ‘break times.

Then ease of handover and sync between iPhone and the Mac is what I love.

My daughter has an ACER and she loves it, but when it comes to doing her actual assignments she steals my Mac!

So thanks for this OP. heat!
The air is a great laptop, I’m still using a 2011 model almost daily. The SSD is too small really and forces the user to add external storage.
Beware though this thing is only a dual core, it might be an "i5" but that does not mean it's the same as most I5s this thing will be slower then most £500 laptops you can get.

I getting quite sick a tired of my 13 MBP 2015. 2.9Ghz i5, 512gb ssd, 8gb ram. Ever since catalina OS certain apps inc mail ramp up the cpu to 100% which destroys the battery. My Air 2018 used to hang every now and then. Not forgoing loss of 32-bit applications and lost my Adobe acrobat install.

When they work slick and smooth.

There is a new model on the horizon. I have my eye on the newer 13" MBP but at 2k... hard to swallow even after 10% student discount and claiming VAT back.
Did not know that a new model was released this month. Thought latest was earlier?

I've got the same model as you and having the same problems. Catalina is a disaster for me. I'm going back to Mojave (or whatever previous one was). This is the first time I've ever felt like I'm on an old machine, up till now it's been almost as fast as when I bought it.

Yes it’s that Amber Lake Y-series so efficient but not like the 8th gen i5’s people might expect.

How was the screen bad - one of the few things it has going for it is an excellent display?

I agree. Not sure I have the time or effort to want to go back.

Is it easy to?

Definitely only made as a word processor...

I’m a Mac user and a huge Apple fan.

These are definitely more than a word processor with a few extra capabilities.

Anyone who would spend £1000 on a word processor needs committed.

You can do so much more than word processing on a MacBook Air.
If you can afford I would suggest this instead amazon.co.uk/gp/…F64 . The price changes every hour so be quick) currentyly at for £1232.

Look at it then look at a pro and you’ll find out very quickly. It’s not like iPhones. There’s actually a huge difference and the FaceTime camera is awful

I'm asking you for specifics, a side-by-side comparison is totally pointless as I don't usually sit two laptops side-by-side and compare and all the reviewers love the display upgrade. The FaceTime cameras have always been bad - that's a side-effect of shoving a webcam into a few mm thick lid behind a pane of glass.

It’s not bad on the pro. People kept on complaining that I was really pixelated on the air and it was so unprofessional. No complaints since I brought the pro!

Not knocking an acer chromebook, but how can you compare a chromebook to a MacBook Pro is crazy. To get a Mac to get VERY hot you need to be churning some high graphic applications and running several more too. I use MacBook Pro’s for business and they do get warm but never hot.

Chromebooks are great for small things and surfing the net, I would much prefer a tablet over a chromebook as a tablet does so much more.

Good luck with your choice though.

Oh I know that. I love it truly, but it’s definitely better than the others as a processor.
Criminal to sell at these prices with 128Gb
Don’t buy, new models is due any day which will be 14 and 16 inch. Bigger is better my wife says.
Every time I read comments on an Apple product, it's the same story:

I get it, lots of you want ease of use and a smooth incompatibility-free environment across all devices at the cost of a 50% markup and overly expensive repairs due to unaccessibility or improper training of authorized technicians.

Those who are very critical of that trade-off are usually the more tech-savvy ones who know that the alternatives can be just as good if not better without the drawbacks. And by the way, we've had or dealt with Macs before!

Back to the post, it's a good deal on a bad product.

Nonsense. Many of us have a long background in ICT and just understand that these machines are worth their price for reasons people like you don’t seem to be able to understand. You say 50% markup. We say 50% more value in the product (on that note, which reputable manufacturer doesn’t have similar markups - cheaper products are generally made with cheaper components and less R&D behind them, but proportionally will have similar markups?

This is a good price for and excellent product, but I have seen better in recent weeks.
Has this expired now? Its showing as full price for me.

Thanks,
