Curry's is selling the 13.3" macbook air for £774, john lewis will price match them, they are offering a 3yr warranty on it, currys only give you a 1yr warranty. You can order it on johnlewis.com then contact them online (here: https://www.johnlewis.com/never-knowingly-undersold) and they will refund you the difference so that you are pricematched. Alternatively you can go in store and get a price match. I went to the trafford centre.

John Lewis link for the macbook air 13.3": johnlewis.com/app…358

Pixmania sell it for £667.01 using the code: CYBERWEEK, after 3.15% topcashback it comes down to £646 but you only get 1yr warranty. Topcashback doesn't have pixmania listed at the moment but they were yesterday and i'm sure they will be back within the next few days.

I wanted the 3yrs warranty, so got it from John Lewis.

UPDATE: John Lewis now sell it for £774 with 3yrs warranty without needing a price match, give this new thread some heat: hotukdeals.com/dea…852

"Never knowingly undersold" yet when alerted to a cheaper competitor offer they only lower their price for one customer and still charge everyone else more. Never knowingly undersold my árse.
Still overpriced for the spec imo. I am a mac user, so not apple hating.

Yeah I know where your coming from.

I mean I've been to Currys loads of times and not once seen a Vindaloo for sale.

Pay a bit more for a Pro Retina, Air isn't really worthy of the badge, unless it's super cheap.
Avoid like a plague - 4GB ram is not expandable - as its soldered on mainboard !
El Capitan needs lots of memory to run already leaving you with low memory available for your tasks.
Very tempted. Hot

There was a memory leak in the early builds/releases, I'm pretty sure that's patched now. My MBA with 4GB of RAM is fine in El Capitan.
Pro is better with better screen and double the ram and stil very slim and light. loads of comparison reviews on youtube.

You can get a HP spectre x360 for this price.

Cold.
Not bashing (well ok I am), but the Dell XPS 13 ****** on this all day in every facet
I've had both and the Air was kicked into touch
4gb ram is a bit low and you can't upgrade.
I'd splash a bit more for 8gb

Does that have OS X on, yeah?
I would pay the extra just for OS X. Nothing compares.

Know of any good deals on the pro?
look special
Well the entry level 15inch pro is a steal at £1600...lol.

I'm bitter because I want one.
Apple need to kill this. They were neat before the MBP went on a diet.

Dell XPS 13 does indeed kick its ****, but on value, I would say the HP Envy 13 does. Can be had for around £600, but equal or better specs all round. Same weight, thinner (by 4mm), better CPU, twice the RAM, twice the SSD, 1080p screen, matte display(!), and yet costs less. Build quality seems solid too, metal case.

You can get a student discount from HP too. About 7% I think. Just need a .ac.uk email address.

Always interest me these comments. I have Win10 & OS X machines at home and at work (and have used both systems for years). I happily go between them at will and really don't see/feel much difference at all. I'd love to know what I'm missing (I really would) but I just don't get it? I have zero problems with both platforms.

the unidays website.

No, thank god.

But seriously, this technology is way overpriced for the specification, should be more like £399 than £699. But the company needs to keep bank balance up by shaving the wool from the sheep each year.

I've been running a MacBook Air 11" with 4GB RAM and have upgraded to El Capitan - unbelievably I have had no problems doing work in CS6 on it - it has amazed me working in Photoshop how fast it is, I never thought about putting CS on it until I had too and it's performance under El Capitan is very impressive.

I don't want people to get the impression that I'm some sort of hipster, so this is a no for me.
A fine example of apple bashing going on here. Give me more to ignore I guess.

Rather than bashing apple because you're some sort of cool hipster 'I hated them before it was cool' why don't you try and find this cheaper, or vote hot for what this is.

Yours sincerely, a happy mac user.
Holding off from this one heard new macbook air is on the way with retina display
