Limited offer on the new MacBook Pro 13" bringing it down to a still ridiculous £1299.

Good price if you're in the market for one though.

10% TCB Too apparently!! This obviously isn't a cold deal...!

Yes, an exact equivalent in every respect or better still a £79 tablet.

Haha I'm expecting endless cold votes and comments. I know it's overpriced, but a deal is a deal

I used my gf's MBP for a week and I loved it. I know it's overpriced but if you like their eco system and optimised softwares then it is a really good purchase. I'm actually after a 15' maxed specs 2015 MBP.

Have some heat, sir!
+1 Have some heat op.

People quickly forget what this site is for and if you are in the market for one it represents a saving, irrespective of whether you think it is overpriced (which I do :p) so should be recognised as a deal.

(Sigh) every Apple thread follows the same theme but analogous of a fiat 500 being cheaper than a BMW, that's not the point. Some people want to buy a BMW and this site saves them money.

My penny's worth
Isn't a Surface Pro more powerful than this? I won't be offended if someone corrects me (in a nice and polite way that is)

The MBP retinas were the best ones they made imo. Way better than the newest ones
Possible spec bumps coming in March, good deal however

Probably. There are quite a few more powerful laptop than MBP but once again, if you're after their eco system and softwares that is optimised for Macs then this is a good buy.

Awesome deal! HEAT ADDED!

Amazes me that some people don't know what a deal is on here.

You aren't the only one.
I just sold my max spec 2015 MBP 15" for £2226, I bought it new from Apple for £2223 (with a friends student discount) 20 months ago!
What are the alternatives then? What are these amazing laptops that compete? An Asus Zenbook similar spec. is £1400. I'm not switching operating systems and changing other software for a few £££100 saving.

I've got a Macbook Pro from 2007, Intel Core 2 Duo, 10 years old, still flying along, Sketchup Pro 2017, Adobe CS 5. £900 for a machine that has lasted 10 years and still going. Have been thinking about upgrading and letting the wife use this one.

The other point is retained value. Many laptops massively depreciate as soon as you get them out of the box. I can still get £200 for my 10 year old MBP 2007 on eBay! £700 for 10 years use. Absolute bargain.

*I'd want 16gb RAM, and at least a 500GB HD though...

All depends what you need a laptop for; to process photo/videos you're going to need at least 8GB RAM and a decent processor.

For clarity, my comment was said ironically, I don't really think a £79 tablet or chromebook is in anyway comparable to this item, other than they share some computing abilities

A chromebook isn't comparable to a mac or Windows laptop. It's only good for browsing and online stuff, plus build quality and hardware specs are much Inferior.

I got this Mac model back in November, first Mac I own and I love it. I do think it's overpriced a bit but it's really a nice machine and works flawlessly.

Hmm my irony detector must be out of whack

I thought it mo ronic rather than ir onic but maybe it was less ronic. I need to sit down now
VOTED HOT.. I cannot see it cheaper elsewhere...also 10% TCB as well so turns into a very tempting deal.

great spot!
There's a few on apple refurbished for 1179 at the moment. Basically like new for other refurbished kit I've bought.
When are we gonna get a nice deal for a 15" macbook? I'm in the market.
