It says what model it is in the title, not hiding anything, but thanks for pointing out
There was a used-very good 2019 base model 13" pro for £850 after discount a few days ago. Quad core i5, 8gb, 128gb ssd touchbar

Might be best to wait in case they add more

Box damaged and keyboard damaged seemingly, by design.
Good that they've finally replaced the keyboard and stopped killing butterflies.
The new one is made of bees and hopefully doesn't come with sticky keys.

Dual core is probably the only thing that would put me off. And the keyboard on this one isn't as good as the newer keyboards.
£1034.00 for me...

It was posted in the warehouse 20% off thread, not as a separate deal. It was for a used one not a brand new model

Thanks for posting OP. Should be a good deal once 20% is applied, but seems hit and miss. 20% not automatically applied for me either - perhaps you need a code? Heat from me anyway(y)
No touch bar...big feature

128GB, soldered in SSD... Comes with a free gif of Tim Cook and his team belly-laughing at you while lighting their fat cigars with $100 bills. I love my fully upgradable MacBook Pro 2011 - been 100% reliable, and use Macs at work every day (where someone else has to pay for it) but their pricing and reliability nowadays is nothing short of outrageous and exploitative.

Function keys are more useful for some anyway.

Compared to dual core processor the lack of touch bar is not a big deal.

Depends what features you need. Personally with Audition and final cut, it's better to be able clear the screen of unwanted clutter easily

If I was using anything professionally except basic office I wouldn't buy the lowest spec.
I bought the 15inch version of this in 2017 - had loads of headaches with keyboard - after many threats of court battles they finally refunded me.

If you still want one, get yourself a keyboard cover and don’t eat anywhere near it. If you’ve got a brush attachment with your vac, you ideally want to give a once over every now and then.

Sounds like a good deal if you want one though.

If this is non-touchbar, then the SSD is not soldered in. Bad news is that it is proprietary and, as of yet, no aftermarket SSD or adapter seems to be available.

Notice that it’s much slower than the 2019 model.
Be careful, these Amazon warehouse products seem “like new” or “very good” but I’ve recently purchased some Apple products which look brand new but I checked the warranty and it had only a few months left. More telling, an iPad Pro I purchased “like new” with damaged box had over 100 battery cycles, so that is certainly not like new.
Oos
Give me 16gb 16 inch for the same price!

Not the case for everyone, of course, but I'd really struggle with 128gb of disk space -- more like half that after formatting and OS. I didn't realise Apple still offered such a pitiful SSD size!
All gone.... so sad :-(
Frankly there were better macbook deals during warehouse period. Got 2 Retina Airs 2018 128gb silver/grey for 580 and 600 respectively. Also there were the touch bar ones for around the same price as this one, albeit also 128gb ssd.
I currently own this one (2017 pro with 2 usbc) and from a quick comparison with Air I think I prefer the latter - nicer keyboard, nicer form factor touch ID, think 'll be replacing pro with the air

The warranty could just be something as simple as they have been sitting in the warehouse for a few months since being returned.

Keyboard itself has a 4 year warranty, so no need to be so careful.

Yeap, I would accept that and be perfectly happy. It was the battery count of 100+ that has put me off. iPad Pro 11inch "Like New" for £550. Im considering sending it back - How can it look new but have 100+ battery cycles...

Possible repaired device?
These have the duff keyboards, probably best avoided.

This should be considered on a case to case basis. I got an air in 'good' condition--arrived virtually new with not a single mark and 31 battery cycles, however warranty till february. One more arriving today so will see if that's any better/worse.

If you look at my comment, I was replying to yus786's comment which was about another £850 deal *with* the touchbar. You are correct in pointing out that the non-touchbar ones do not have soldered-in SSDs, but in fact use the T2 security chip to block after-market devices. In my mind, that is actually worse than soldering in the SSD. At least for soldered-in devices one can make the argument that they're doing it to make the build smaller/thinner. This T2 chip is essentially so you cannot buy a base model and upgrade after the fact and also so you have to go back to apple to get your SSD replaced when it invariably fails 5-10 years down the line, at which point Apple will either make it ludicrously expensive to do or most likely say that those are no longer supported and you have to buy a new Mac.

If they spent as much time innovating their products as they do innovating how to monetise their customers by trying to get complete control over their ecosystem and third-rate support structure then I might have more respect for them these days. I used to think that Louis Rossman was a frothing fanatic when I first started watching his channel and now I see that he has actually hit the nail on the head and been quite prophetic when it comes to predicting Apple's policy of screwing the consumer.
