Does this MacBook have UK warranty and UK mains out? 28 Oct 2014
As far as I can tell, both.... certainly the UK mains out.... and it has a pound sign on the keyboard so looks hopeful - I've not checked whether apple will honour the warranty though.... As far as I can tell it's a UK packaged model, all shrinked wrapped and new.
does this have a uk keyboard? 1 Dec 2014
Yes it has a uk keyboard.
Further down the answers: "Yes it is the one out now but with American keyboard you soon get used to that"
Warranty will be fine (it's worldwide), and to change to a UK plug is trivial and the seller will likely be supplying the adaptor/plug. The one downside if it is a grey import may be the US keyboard layout - worst it means is that the £ sign is accessed by pressing an extra key.
this all said - great price for a good quality machine.
You can. But the issue is it is PCIe based SSD and is very costly as Apple changes these SSD models with every release !! Apple set their own standards, so no much competition available. 2014 13" replacement document
Hope you guys start looking outside your own compartment and relise that you have been fooled by Apple for so long ....
Fact: Apple is relying on very high profit margin from people who are brand fanatic ....
It is not just about i5 processor. There's lot about design, build quality, portability. I have used atleast 25 brands/versions of laptop in last 15 years. Only Macbook and Thinkpad X&T series were fit for day-to-day business work use. Rest all failed too quickly. Of course Thinkpad X series are costly as well. (btw, I hate apple for moving away from lot of industry standards, but things they do : they do it very well)
Yes I believe there is due to be a conference tomorrow, with a likelihood of new models of the Air and Pro being announced. It doesn't stop the current machines being fantastic though. I bought an Air a few months back and couldn't be happier with it. That's after decades of being a Windows user. I really don't understand the hate people have for Apple products in general - I'd wager a bet that those slating them have never used one, as once you have, you will never go back.
I still own a PC for gaming, but I will certainly never buy another Windows-powered machine for my general computing needs.
oh god
I'm terribly sorry you feel that way. I'lI be sure to inform Apple's sales team that this is the equivalent to one month's wages for you, and therefore they should change their entire marketing and sales strategy for your benefit - after all they only sell one or two of these each year. I'll keep you updated.
128GB non standard SSD. Cold.
Old generation Intel processor. Cold.
879 bones. Cold.
Cold.
Show me a laptop with this spec or better, including connectivity, weight and warranty, for less?
Turn the central heating up.
Great tip; will the laptop run faster then?
Laptop is overpriced but the screen is good and I have seen very few good deals on higher spec laptops....
Please demonstrate by way of posting a better deal. Find us a laptop with similar or better specs, including battery life, weight, connectivity and warranty. Cheers
There currently isn't a small PCI-E SSD connector standard, hopefully someone will decide on one soon as SATA is really starting to hold back peak SSD performance.
and no you don't have to be a student just order online plus it has a 3 warranty £859 delivered

I love it when you say "bones" on threads instead of pounds. Please do it more.

Interesting. I wouldn't normally reply to you because you normally just write **** but today I'm hungover so here's my reply...
I see that you recently posted a horrific Dell laptop deal that includes a screen from 2006 and a hard drive from a Commodore 64. Total price £670. Then you consider this cold because you think the tech is old. Hypocrite
Link doesnt work
I didn't post that Dell deal.
My last deal was over 2 months ago, and you must say a cracking deal compared to this one.

Not easily and 3rd party SSDs are not supported by Apple on Yosemite without 'hacking'
Best advice with Apple products these days is buy what you need at point of sale as they really don't want you to upgrade any of their products anymore.
It's not about the hardware, it's about the system. OSX only has to support a handful of products, therefore it's very optimised compared to Windows. Pros and Cons to Windows machines as well as Apple.

That is a cracking deal. Keith Lemon deserves an OBE.
Agreed, the best advice is to avoid Apple products unless you're willing to throw money like this guy.

I must admit my the Mac Mini I bought a month ago has never done a belly dance for me, I feel foolish now
