I was looking for one of these in comet and they were selling the 500gb model with Microsoft office Mac for £999
I went into Currys and they are selling the same model but with 750gb of memory. When I said about Office they said they would price match! They also threw in a months worth of Apple care for free.
The price for the 750gb is normally £1199 so is a good saving on an Apple product. On top of that you are getting Office which is worth £109.
A good deal if you are after a Macbook!

With the money just for the apple designing

Hot

It comes with a month of Applecare as standard!

Not for me as I cant warrant paying such a price for the design, the brand and an OS that im not familiar with.

Though, it is a good price compared to other retailers so HOT!

Rather get a hp envy and install a form of linux. But thats just me

I have the newer 2.4 i5 model and the first one they released in the range 2 1/2 years ago the 2.26 i3 both 13"

I love apple, but seriously i was shocked at the small difference between the two. I read the hype since every new model came out since my first one. Double the speed of the previous models, well that must be about 3 models now so 3 times faster. Nope, i imagined the spinning ball would go, but no still there on the new one. Really hate the new operating system lion. It really made me realise it is easy to believe the marketing and hype. For those with a older macbook pro, save some money and get a ssd drive. Good points thou, it can handle 16gb ram and the faster sata.

if you're thinking this deal is hot quidico have £100 cash back for any apple mac for 24hrs only its for pcworld / currys. would take it to £899 still a little out of my pricerange though. x Hope this helps someone!(_;)

The reason Apple are pushing these old MacBooks is because a new one will be released very soon with retina display + lots of new features. I would wait. Personally I went for the new HP. So much more for your cash. The basic one is £999 and still only dual core. Seriously !

A months apple care? is that because a lot go faulty in the first 30 days

Very soon = not until April and most likely June at the earliest. There won't be any more updates before Intel releases Ivy Bridge chips.

750GB of RAM is not to be sneezed at for £999. You can open lots of Farmville with that.

Mallinersha

A thousand pound facebook machine.

It would look nice with my diamond encrusted dab radio though

At risk of feeding some ugly idiotic trolls - a MBP is not entry level. They are intended for design, audio, video, post production etc that utitlise the system core and work exceptionally well compared to cheaper macs and pcs.

If you wanted a facebook machine, spend £200 on a netbook, cheap laptop, or a smart phone.

Please dont vote deals cold as you dont like apple, think this model is overpriced, or are just pathetic. For a MBP 899 is an amazing price, compared to the original RRP.

750GB of RAM is definitely not to be sneezed at, it would be groundbreaking
