Thanks, it seems like there are a lot of Mac haters on here!
Yeah, typical Machaters voting negative for the sake of it. For people in the market for this MacBook Pro, and who don't have access to an education discount/corporate discount, this is a good deal. The 16" has just been released, so to get a publicly accessible discount like this is good. Is it good value, that's for the purchaser to decide, but the deal is better than paying full price.

Two and a half grand for a laptop and they couldn't even put a numeric keypad on, nor proper cursor keys.

Wooo! Go Apple!

It’s a shame as this is genuinely a good deal and people looking for a deal on the new 16” MacBook Pro might miss it because of haters spamming the minus button.

Don't judge a book but it's cover.

Numeric keypads are simply wastes of plastic. As for cursor keys, I'm confused - they're present. I used to be pure Windows but then I got a Macbook and things changed.

Would happily pay this.
freezing obviously

But they don't cost £2,500 for a mediocre one.

Sorry you're talking bullocks.

I use a laptop every day for dev work and they're a nightmare when not docked and/or proper usb keyboard.

Pro-Tip: It's got half height up/down keys which are sh1ne.

Surface Book 2. 8th gen i7, 15", 16gb, 1tb, gtx1060. £2519. Though you do get tablet functionality and pen capability.
Excellent price. Am ordering one. I expect it to last 3 to 5 years. Which is far more than any windows machine has lasted

They are well built (apart from the keyboards in the previous couple of generations). I had a 2012 that lasted 6 years until one of the battery cells decided to go for a burton.
Ordered!

I'm confused - what part is bullocks?

I use a Macbook Pro everyday at work, for dev work (front-end dev), on a little monitor elevator hooked up to HDMI with an ext. keyboard and mouse. There are times where I have to use the laptop away from this configuration but I don't see it a nightmare in any sense.

I don't see any need for a numeric pad either.

Again, I see no issue with the half-height keys either. It all seems like a you problem.

3 years! My current one is 2013 and still working. Thankfully. As I won't be spending this sort of money on a replacement.

Replacing my 2015 air. Just not quite powerful enough for video etc.

If you originally bought an Air with the intention for editing, you're doing it wrong.

I won it. And didn't think about that in 2015.

What a stupid post. You actually went to the trouble of typing it, sick and tired of MAC haters trolling people on here.
