First post, so please go easy on me!

Apple MacBook Pro, MD101B/A, Intel Core i5, 500GB, 4GB RAM, 13.3"

Found this on John Lewis website. Normal price £899 but £200 knocked off and includes a 3 year guarantee.

Seems a very good price.

Save £200 until 24.03.2016 (saving already applied to price)

Wait for the anti Apple backlash.. Not enough this, that or the other.
Should really say pro in the title as the MacBook is much dearer!
No stock though !!
cold because it's apple
New mac books due next week I believe.
this is also the mechanical drive version - so older processor too I think.....not recommended tbh - the difference you see would be massive ----- someone more knowledgeable may also confirm that this is not the exceptionally nice form factor....the SSD MAcbook pro is almost the same size as the Macbook Air - just not tapered to the front

ill vote hot just to bring some balance back
4GB of RAM, a slow hard disk, and a low resolution screen.

Each a valid reason to skip this alone, but bundled all into one machines oO

£299 sounds fairer.

Cold. Not a chrome book.
J/k. Voted hot.
Voted hot as decent build and warranty but definitely need an SSD. Note - 2012 model

More than 10 in stock
Voted hot. I have this one bought 4 years ago, for £850. Amazing laptop
Voted hot. £200 saving IS a saving. John Lewis with great after sales. Hot from me.
Just incase anyone doesn't know, This is 4 year old tech by the way.
I'm a Mac advocate but £699 for this model is over the top. It's the non retina 13" version, ivy bridge 2012 spec. One to avoid IMO, you can get the retina models for £100 more from time to time.

Are you sure it's not just sour grapes because pretty much all the deals you posted were received about as well as a silent movie being shown to a blind audience?.
Cold, not full HD screen.
dont buy it i bought this laptop (im writing on it now lol) 4 years ago!!!! its a very good laptop and very fast but wait for a new macbook
I think this is the last model that can be upgraded in terms of both Ram and sticking an SSD in relatively easily - both made a huge difference to my MacBook of this model but then I only paid £320 second hand off a buy and sell site so didn't mind paying a bit extra for the upgrades - it's also the same price in Currys

Just because you can't afford it, doesn't make it cold.
good price but this model is 4 years old

If this was available for £850 4 years ago, what makes you think it's a hot deal at £700 now?

Computer tech moves on very quickly and the sum of the components in this 2012 model are not worth £700. You can get much better machines for your £700, and if you want an Apple then your £700 is better invested in a newer model.
best macbook pro, as u can upgrade ram from 4gb to 8gb for £50 and 240gb ssd for £50. The new model is nearly a right off if any part of it fails!

...but this one has a 3-Year Guarantee INCLUDED - I think Curry's would want to charge you extra for that !
Your first purchase after buying this would be a memory module upgrade to bring it up to 8Gb otherwise you will be seeing a lot of that spinning beachball !

I doubt that. I have a 4gb MacBook and don't see it. I use it for office work and Internet stuff.
i have this laptop, reliable and never had a problem for 3 years but is way overpriced now given its a 2013 model
Same as at Currys (without the warranty probably):
http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/apple-macbook-pro-13-13730045-pdt.html

Seems to be stock dumping - most likely Apple are going to discontinue it on 21/3/16 during their 'Let Us Loop You In' event when they refresh the other machines.

But it's not Apple hating, it *is* overpriced for a 3-4 year old machine and if you really must have a MacBook Pro, then you're better off getting one of the Retina ones.

4gb works fine in my Mac Mini with an SSD upgrade but I can feel the difference when using this model of MBP with a RAM upgrade (to 16gb) you probably don't need that much but 8gb would be beneficial IMO

Once you've used the Retina display in newer MacBooks, it's almost impossible to go back.
Had this since release, currently have a 1TB SSD and 8GB ram and it is still lightning fast, never had to be restored, never had a fault, and it has been dropped at least 10 times. Really hot deal.
This is a good buy. It's the only fully upgradable Macbook pro and if you don't need the SuperDrive it can be replaced with another SSD. In addition, this version supports 16gb of memory not the 8gb advertised maximum.
Current versions are less upgradable. I bought one last week and I'm a dyed in the wool Windows tech, even the base spec of 4gb mem and 500gb drive is much faster than expected. You certainly won't be gaming on it, but for Office and general stuff it's fine. Ignore the haters I used to be one.

Fool.
Great price, well spotted OP.
Friend bought this at full whack at JL last week, any chance JL would match the new price like Amazon do?

Hot because it's relatively cheap to the price at Apple but cold since the tech here is utterly ancient. I'm an Apple fan and can appreciate their hardware but to throw £699 at this is simply crazy.
It really depends what you want to do with it, for Office and browsing why would need anything more than a 3rd gen i5?
