Until March 22nd Dixons have 8% off all hardware, plus an increased cashback of 5%.

Use code DXPC8 or HARDWARE8 for 8% discount at the checkout, and go through quidco for another £74 cashback, bringing the laptop down to £1627.

Works for all the Apple laptops, and while not for everyone, represents a decent saving off the machine for anyone interested.
Please don't bleat on about how you can get x or y machine for a quarter of the price, no one cares.

That price is just bloody ridiculous.
The other end of the spectrum from "good deal"

Oh if only I had this kind of money burning a hole in my pocket. Alas it is not to be

Have a feeling that this code is not valid on Apple stuff. I stand to be corrected though.
The DXPC8 code is not valid on Apple according to Quidco, but don't know about the other one.

Both codes work - I know the DXPC8 says not for apple, but it does go through.

You find a better deal then I'm listening, otherwise you're just talking ****.

I have just got this exact same spec from Apple. Great laptop, highly recommended.

Good price. Hott.

Paying ~£1700 for a 15" laptop with only a 5400rpm harddrive and 4Gb of RAM is ridiculous. Cold for me because of that.

I agree you can get a similar spec pc for a lot less, but do you know of any brand that provide the same level of system support and build quality. That is a serious question...

I have a great HP laptop, but the plastic does feel cheap, and the screen isn't the best in normal light.

Having worked with both I can't decide which I prefer. Win 7 or the mac equivalent.....do any pc manufacturers make aluminium laptops? My friend has last years mac book pro, and it feels excellent!

The question is, what is the discount upon RRP? Looks like >10% discount, which is a pretty good saving.

Irrespective, people will vote the product, not the deal.

Oh well...it's been discussed to the nth degree...I doubt whether discussing it again will make the blindest bit of difference...

Are Apple products over priced?..Yes. Would I still like one if I had the cash?...Hell yeah

Don't like the sound of being billed extra later if they later discovered I used invalid code at checkout. Especially if the 7 day DSR period had already ended.

Can I use this deal in my Gin&Tonic? mmmm...lovely...liquid nitrogen cold.

Apple and nobends deserve each other...totally ridiculous, there really is no reason for such a premium price other than brand worship!!!!

Or, if you're a professional photographer and can't turn up to a client with anything else (my cousin's predicament).

He has the same problem with monitors...he could get a Dell IPS panel for lots less, but has to have either an Eizo or NEC for clients to not look down their nose at him.

Ridiculous, but a fact for some professions.
