Correct me if I'm wrong but I don;t think this is the latest model as it's an Intel Core 2 Duo. The latest models use the i5 and i7 chips.

Is it possible to change the title?

No 13" is only available in core2's if you want i3 or i5 they are available with 15" models...

The lastest version of Linux Ubuntu has jus been released and works out at a fraction of the cost of apple items ; visit Linuxbasix & linuxreality podcasts if u wnt to get started. U'll b glad u did

Isn't this a bit besides the point. Anyone who's going to buy an Apple probably knows that's what they want and probably for it's user friendly approach. Just a thought.

Good price but shame its 13".

Best size for compromising between performance and portability IMO. Just wish they'd start putting blu-rays in 'em.

graphics '256 MB DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory' poor for £900, even in 13"
16:10 aspect ratio=old
250GB small for price
No HDMI or Blu Ray
No i5 or even i3
Admittedly the plastic shiny case is nice
And mac OS apparently nicer than windows
But for shy of £1000 this is stingy; this may benefit fanboys, but if you can blow £900 on a laptop you can pay £1000 for one with modern tech

It has Displayport with audio pass through, so you can get a hdmi adapter if you must. The Macbook Pros are aluminium not plastic.

Bluray isn't really happening and Steve Jobs doesn't rate it, so don't count on seeing it in any Apple product anytime soon.

These are not plastic, they are aluminum and they have a 10+ hour battery life. You like macs or you don't, this is a good price if you want one, not so good if you don't but hot from me.

I am not a fan boy for apple products..If you configure a dell xps with the same configuration as the mac you will be paying well over £900 mark..And you get some crappy little plastic box with some crap software in it...

Where as with the mac you get really good software with really good hardware bundled with excellent customer service. what else you need...?

Just to let you know I use a laptop and a desktop both are running windows..I wish I can use mac's but all my education related software demands windows software...

Good deal! I got my new MBP 13" the same configuration listed in deal for £859.93 with £130 rebate for iPod Touch & £60 for Printer making it cheaper than the standard Apple Macbook. I went for 13" as I wanted portability & performance. The battery backup s awesome... shows 8:45 as I reply to this message. i5 & i7 are for people in music & movie editing.. the C2D with 4 GB ram can do lot of basic computing with some photoshop stuff. i5 is £400+ I took few days to decide over 13 & 15 due to the processor but then convinced myself to go with smaller one. I also checked Dell, Sony, Lenova.. man they have 13.3" with similar configuration & build more expensive than Apple!

Oh.. same price at ]Amazon.co.uk if you prefer them for great customer support! Also Amazon 3rd party sellers have for £866.50 inc. delivery. I'd personally go with Amazon, but thats just me.

Cheers

that's comparing apples to rocket ships. take a standard studio model with an i3, more ram, windows 7, better components across the board and it won't go beyond 450 odd quid. yes, thats half the price. if your shiny aluminium is worth the price of a ps3 or the deposit on a new car, then sure, vanity comes at a cost!

::w00t: I'm sorry but linux is NOT garbage. FYI, mac OS was effectively built on UNIX; as was (you guessed it) Linux.

They are both built on the same base. Linux is very widely used and these days the GUI can look VERY nice with a bit of tweaking. Although linux is not made for those without much computing experience; this in no way means that is garbage.

Yes, I myself would prefer to use macOS as it is more user friendly (without much tweaking) and runs like a dream; but you cannot deny that Linux is excellent (And free).

Linux is excellent for servers. That is all.
