Great price, but if you need a pro 16gb would be the minimum I would go for.

Not once when owning a macbook pro did I find myself needing more than 8 gigs of RAM. Not even close.

I'd agree there. However 128gb hdd isn't enough these days imo

I'm on a 13" Macbook pro. I currently have 21 tabs open in Chrome, 4 tabs in safari and a word and numbers document open. Used memory is currently 11.74GB. So very much depends upon your usage.

If you need the 256GB SSD then Apple have a refurbished (these are essentially new) for £1019.

I have 22 open in Chrome, 3 in Firefox, at least 7 other applications open for a total of 5.2GB so I doubt it's your browser that is using all that RAM. This is Windows 8.1 so maybe Chrome for macOS is a hog!

Heat added, MacBooks may not be for everyone, I've had mine for 5 years and have 8GB of RAM with no issues, Mac OS software works well with the hardware,

You have 16Gb so the OS is using it, that's how MacOS should work....doesn't mean it wouldn't work just as well with 8gb though..

Good job no one said "better off waiting a few weeks as new ones are due to be announced. Old ones are sure to drop in price afterwards"....
