US keyboard

I am not an apple person, AT ALL but i must say at that price i am considering it...

cruisecars

US keyboard

I thought the letter "B" in the model name was for British Keyboard...

This would be american model,so you also need power socket adapter and keyboard is US indeed.
Good price, but for £69 more I can buy British one from Apple Student Store ( no need to be student )

Plus £60 gift card,so basically same price less hassle...

How come you don't need to be a student? How does that work?

Just go to the student store and you'll be asked for your education establishment. I can't remember the exact options but choose 'other' not a specific university or college.

This covers people who are studying non university / college courses.

The prices are slightly reduced but not as good as a university student gets with a unit email address.

These are great, I have had 3 of them. They just work. The US keyboard wouldn't bother me. They are reducing prices as new models coming but these are really good I can tell you. Compared to a 650 PC you won't be dissappointed.
(I have used PCs for 25 years and Macs for 4 and not had ONE issue when using a Mac). I still use a PC at work.

£679 from apple refurb store, , Uk model, probably new (2013 old stock), but apple refurbs from apple are just like new anyway...

store.apple.com/uk/…-i5

When I ordered the 11" version grey import via Amazon I got the speed bumped 1.4 model. So it is possible you get a newer version then the listing suggests.

Thankfully I don't have to use the MBA though, it is just used as a Xamarin Build Host. The screen is terrible for what Apple are charging. Less of an issue at this price point however.

Agree with kingchris about the screen though, it's not the best, but portability, battery life, build quality, speed and OSX still make it a very good laptop, just don't expect retina display quality that's all.

How much are theseums normally at a less discounted rate? x

Keep to the point please. Can we ban you instead?

mattmerch, I'd be interested to see that windows machine you talked about, please give link and evidence of 4x performance please?

I'd probably prefer a refurb from Apple rather than a new one from "Pleasure Time Technology".

Don't like the new macbooks that can't upgrade ram etc

** Rimi I think you might be fibbing or getting something wrong??? as what link you added does not work also if you go to this link you get this.... Sorry, you can only access the Apple Store for Higher Education when connected to your university's network.
You can still order when you are off-campus by calling 0800 072 1154 to speak to one of our Mac Experts.

Yep I completely agree. I bought one from a "Fulfilled by Amazon" seller last month, had a problem with it, Apple Genius Bar would not replace it, referred me back to Amazon.

Received a refund 2 weeks later and bought a refurbished unit from Apple - no problems and full Apple support should anything go wrong.

Thanks for this the US keyboard will be fine ill get use to it

Yes that's all good and well, can you find me one this size, thickness, weight, build quality, metal casing, 10 hour battery life, SSD as standard, backlit keyboard as standard, glass multitouch trackpad, mega thin screen/lid! Flawless OS?

I'll buy you a car if you can!

Bargain.
The 2013/2014 Macbook Airs are truely amazing machines and they are almost identical in specs.
I'd personally prefer the 8GB Ram model with 256GB SSD but at this price this is a super deal.
The 4GB Ram model works absolutely fine.
Buy it!

Give me 1% of price and I will buy it for you from my link
Just use your head, everything is working, you don't need to be in campus or a student...and it is working for good 5 years like this.
Only stupid people are paying full price for Apple products as they are already overpriced.

I don't have an issue with it, but are these sellers effectively smuggling?

MBA is $999.00 on Apple's site.

They buy it in a Tax free State = £594.64 at the current rate of exchange.

If they paid the UK vat importing it, it would cost them £713.57.

I get they might get a discount by buying in bulk but they still have to transport it here, etc. Just wondered how they were sneaking them in the country?

OOS from seller

Good price, a similar Windows ultrabook (e.g. Dell XPS 13 w/ i7-4650U aka with 5000 graphics, 8GB, 256GB SSD) is about 800 on Outlet - so also refurb. A new one is over 1k.

apple? absolutely hot!

Absolutely the reason why to be careful when buying from any retailer, the apple store acts as the retailer for apple so you have the benefit of buyer protection buying from a retailer as well as the manufacturer warranty from apple as the manufacturer.

If in doubt check the serial numbers with apple online to see if it still has a genuine apple warranty, any genuine seller should be able to provide this information even though its a hassle for them to allocate a specific unit but worth it from a buyer point of view.

cold apple why pay more for less

macbook has been one of the best things I've ever bought, and I'm very anti-Apple, it's just a joy to use and very rarely lets me down and at this price well worth a punt

You've gotta pay to play with Apple unfortunately, just the way it is. This product is rather good though I must admit, nothing groundbreaking but a safe bet.

"macbook has been one of the best things I've ever bought, and I'm very anti-Apple,"

Yes, I can hear that bile from all of 1 nm.
