Great price

Actually reviews show a lot of failures

Updated price, thanks for the heads up.

We have about 5 of these cables around the house, two of them in the car. Most of them are genuine apple, and they are the most temperamental cables you'd ever find in your life. They work on this device and they dont on the other. Some work in the car and some don't. Others pick and choose whether they will charge from the USB or from the wall plug.

That's not counting the old 18pin cables. Why not just go with the standard small USB standard? Now especially with the new console controllers, there's new usb cables required for everything also.

Anyways, good price.

Good price. I got through quite a few of those pound a pop cables. At least this is guaranteed to last

I need a few of these for my ipod and i was just going to buy a few of the cheap ones on ebay for about £1.50 each obviously they wont last for ever but is there any other major drawbacks from buying the cheap ones instead ?

Don't waste money on the cheap ones, they last a few weeks and/or just throw errors on your devices. 'charging not supported' or something. it really is a pain and pointless. you need a cable MFI certified. The original apple ones are the best, just expensive.

I had a similar experience buying cable which was mfi certified and worked for couple of weeks and then stopped working. The seller SpeedyGoal Limited simply decided to refund instead of replacing but is still selling the same cable. I got a cheapo cable from another seller which lasted for few days and then stopped working.

What is causing these cables to stop working is a mystery given that I have USB cables which are more than a decade old and still work. I hate Apple for this simple reason as they simply wipe out compatibles and virtually control everything worst than what Microsoft did in the Windows prime days.

Could anybody recommend a decent plug to go with one of these? I'd hate to buy something crap and damage the phone, but the thought of paying Apple prices is galling. Surely there must be something in between which is a good product at a good price

I have found Amazon Basics cables to last the longest.

Plus if anything happens within a year it gets replaced. Even though that applies to most items sold by Amazon anyway.

As v5uly mentioned, it's £4.49 now - why expired?

Now even cheaper chaps...
