How many films can you put on the ipad ? Looking for one for my son so he can use it while we are on long distance flights.

The promotional code is only applicable with products available for home delivery, therefore you're not able to order the black one for this price.

I would say at least 16 films , depending on the format

I would say at most 16 films depending on the format, and as few as 2 if they are HD and you've got a good selection of apps, pics and music so only a few gig free.

Oh wow!!! Stunning price for this revolutionary and magical device.

do i get this or an asus transformer with dock (not the prime)???!!!???

I still feel the wifi only model is relatively impractical, certainly if used on ground based travel. Good price though, voting hot.

Voted hot
Think I will be grabbing one from
Currys as was going to pick one up from John Lewis at the weekend seeing they offer 2 years warrenty but will get this seeing it comes in at £20 cheaper. Just waiting on my refund from buying an ASUS transformer last week.

Gonna be using to take away so happy with wifi as most places should have it while I'm away and will just use my phone to tether over here

lol @ revolutionary and magical.

Decent tablet but 16gb for such a high end piece of kit is pretty limiting imo and with it not being upgradeable it would get on my moobs to be honest, I am well on the way to filling my 32gb tablet

Personally the lack of 3G wouldnt be an issue for me, but I guess it depends on your needs and how often you have access to wifi.

Hot for the price however.

Good price for 3rd Gen Apple. I am no fan of Apple, however if I were to buy an ipad would go for gen 2 as the extra cost of gen 3 is simply not worth it in my opinion.

Maybe being a bit slow here butl;

Turns the phones 3g into a portable wifi

Excellent deal and The new version is so much better than the iPad 2 especially gaming and Internet and reading. Thus is a good price but I would still recommend paying the extra for one from John Lewis as you get the 2 year warranty

Yeah get the 3 over the 2, the retina display is worth the extra

still confused - if your tablet is capable of a wifi connection would you not just connect that way - I am still learning , do you mean you would tether when you cant find a wifi hotspot

Is it only white which is available?

Well, as the owner of an iPad 3rd Gen the extra cost over an iPad 2 is worth it

laughing out lod

Hey, If your in a wifi area you can connect to the wireless router, but if your not you can tether (connect to your mobile phones 3g). So in essence your correct

Tethering is for when you DONT have access to wifi....you can set your phone to be a portable wifihotspot and then connect your wifi only tablet to the phone to use the phone data plan

Anyone know how to get the interest free deal from Tesco?
Is it instore only? I saw it in the Metro today

Many people have 3G on their phones So they just tether their internet.

It's handy if you're not in an area with a wifi connection so can just turn on your personal wifi hotspot on your phone and then get wifi anywhere if you cannot get onto a wifi network

Mainly returned due to the weight of the machine once the dock was attatched as plan to take a tablet on my road trip plus wasn't kean on the android operating system. I'm not an apple fanboy but just prefer their OS over android and feels more user friendly but that's just my two pence worth.

Could be worth you having a try of the transformer see how you get on with it

32GB is £455.05 instead of £479 too

Buy on your tesco credit card and it appears as a buy now pay later option at checkout.....not sure if this is on all the time but i did this 6 months ago

Shame it's only on the white one, really want it in black.

Good price for a great tablet. Be aware though that depending on your usage, 16GB may not be sufficient. You are paying the extra premium for HD but higher resolutions mean bigger apps and bigger downloads. If you want to store media content to watch away from home and/or use any of the apps that will make use of the retina display then the 16GB will soon be swallowed up. There's some pretty large apps out there already, for example, the GarageBand app is 1.1GB on its own. If 16GB is sufficient for your needs then its a hot deal.

good price but 16gb..... meh

Can it play MKV movie files?

I hate Apple, but I think this is quite a good deal too. There I said it.

I found the iOS quite obstructive. I spent best part of 30 minutes trying to upload some pdf books onto my wife's ipad 2, and failed. My got myself a Galaxy Tab 8.9, and copy and paste onto the onboard memory was so much easier than fighting with iTunes. My wife also had problem with iWork suite and had to go back to using my netbook for her work.

Still, it's a good price for people who likes the iOS. For me, Apple is more style over substance.

For anyone who is concerned about the storage capacity of the cost effective iPad, I can highly recommend one of these.
