Hi,

Ive been keeping an eye on the prices of the 256gb 3rd Gen iPad over the last week and this is the best I’ve found.

It also comes complete with Apples one year guarantee, new box, battery and outer case so basically in a new condition.

At the time of posting both both Space Grey & Silver are available.

Thanks and I hope this helps someone.

I was lucky I bought a 2nd generation iPad Pro 512gb 12.9 brand new on a deal posted on here for just over £550 from Argos they honoured it though plainly was a miss price! Fab piece of kit!

That is the third but the 4th generation came out a couple of weeks ago so it could be that you're thinking of?
200 quid cheaper than new generation I suspect you will get one way cheaper than this on eBay from various sellers without much effort to be honest
I wouldn’t pay that for a brand new 3rd gen

My mistake, this is 3rd.
My confusion came because when they’ve released each generation of 12.9, they’ve also released a smaller one (or soon after), and I forgot they did 9.7” first.
I’ve been more interested in the 11”, which is in its 2nd generation, because the first smaller gens were 9.7 and 10.5, so I thought the latest were 2nd gen 11” and 3rd gen 12.9, but the latest 12.9 is 4th.

Man, that was a pain to write an explanation for. I’ll delete my first comment. Apologies.
I paid £900 for this new about 4 weeks after release in 2018.
There's also the possibility of another 12.9" revision in the autumn, although whether COVID-19 delays that, not sure. Think I'll wait and get the newer model at some point later in the year, or wait for a decent price on the 2018 with 512Gb new.

No there isn’t. They have brought out a new model now. Why would they bring two models out In the same year? What possible upgrades could it have. You have totally made this up.

I read about this elsewhere online a few months ago, and it was mentioned again when the newest model came out too.

I read a lot of tech news, so don't have the inclination to make this sort of stuff up!

Not saying it’s made up at all. Just Apple won’t release a new thousand pound iPad then bring another out later in the year that would de value the whole range. They stick to periodic releases for iPhone and the iPad gets refreshed every couple of years. Hence why the iPad hold there values so well. Just not there style at all.
Great price!

Many years ago I bought an iPad 3. Apple ceased production of it and released the iPad 4 just 8 months after the 3 was originally released. Glad I’ve got a pro now but would love to replace it as 9.7 really does feel small now.

I’m after a 12.9 new model would like to wait and get it for around 800 though. Usually can off eBay after after a month or so after release.

"You have totally made this up."

Anyhow, I'm not convinced they will either, but wouldn't put it past them.
I bought the 2019 IPad Pro 11 inch 512gb wi/fi cellular when it appeared on deal last year for 850.00 and John Lewis price matched. Can’t fault the mac

Refurbished from Apple is like new, not comparable to a used one on eBay. If you want cheaper by all means go on eBay but that doesn’t mean this isn’t a good saving.

Lots of new ones on eBay wasn’t talking about a refurb.

They do it all the time with MacBooks and have done it in the past when the iPad 4 was announced in October 2012 after the iPad 3 in March 2012. This year they are expected to get new Micro LED displays (if the crisis allows), hence the small upgrade to the processors in the 4th gen iPad Pro’s

The new model is barely an upgrade. I've heard rumours from several places about a real upgrade in autumn.

In fairness every year there is rumours about a pre cycle upgrade. It’s way ahead of the game and every other tablet out there. Won’t upgrade it if not needed especially to out of cycle. I guess no one knows it’s just a guessing game will just have to wait and see. 😃

The problem is these people know nothing, it’s only in the weeks before anything solid comes out when case designs leak .

Yeh and when it is out it doesn't really look worth the price.

£350 is madness for a case / keyboard / stand / trackpad

It is just over engineered.

Same as their monitor stand. Both look very cool and would be great as a premium option. But not as the only option.

Kinda like foldables just now.

Like I said it depends on the analyst. Some likely make very stretched guesses based on available data. Some are more consistently correct. I don't think any of them are always correct.
