Not cheap, I know that, and when the lad in the Apple store told me the Smart Keyboard for the Air I’d just purchased would be another £159 I almost laughed at him! However this is comfortably the cheapest I’ve found it, and considering getting at this price. Apple stuff is rarely cheap, so to be saving 25% seems a good deal on a normally overly expensive product

The Smart Keyboard combines advanced technologies to create a keyboard like no other. It’s a full-size keyboard that’s fully portable, and it connects to the new iPad and iPad Air with the Smart Connector. Just attach the Smart Keyboard and start typing. And when you’re done, it folds to create a slim, lightweight cover.

No track pad makes these very frustrating to use, you will be between touchscreen and keyboard constantly while writing documents moving cursor, changing menus etc.

I want to like this sort of product, but I keep feeling that you may as well just use a laptop if you’re going to add this sort of bulk to an iPad.
They look great for word processing etc, but when you’re consuming media on the sofa/in bed, you’ve got a bulky keyboard ‘flapping’ around the back of the device.
I also think that the Logitech equivalent is better than this, given that it has backlit keys. just my opinion

Yeah I agree with this having used my iPad with a keyboard for a few years, it gets tiresome quickly over long documents. Pairing a mouse helps somewhat and makes it all a lot nicer to use but is another thing to carry.
Tbh these are the kinda comments I wanted to see... I’ve seen the Logitech version and cheaper, but the reviews weren’t as good. However the convenience of not having a trackpad / mouse is a good point. I don’t really use my laptop anymore, with the exception of the odd piece of word / excel, but thought something like this would negate the need for having both on the go
The question is, how does one know what generation of iPad one has!! They made the nomenclature rather complex!
I have got the Logitech and I found it very bulky twice the weight than actual iPad. The Apple one is way lighter..
I bought this from Amazon, but then sent it back. It was flimsy, the keys seemed sticky and it was not a full cover. In the end I bought a cheap cover and a separate bluetooth keyboard for less than a quarter of the price. Works as well and much more convenient.
Great stuff. Thanks for sharing. My mum asked for one of these for her iPad Air.
It may not be to everyone's liking but it's a great price. Voted hot!!
For 50% more you can get an actual iPad though!
