Apple trade up - good prices for old iphones

Found 10th Apr 2016
Apple are giving a pretty good trade in price for old iphones if you trade up to a new iphone. I got £75 for an old iPhone 4S which is almost double what I could get for it on the recycling websites/cex etc. This brought the price for an iPhone SE down to £284.
Not sure if the values for other phones are as competitive?

Shame they don't offer a trade in for the 6s.

I only got the 6s as I didn't think they would refresh the 4" line. Then 6 months later they do.

I asked last week but they don't offer a trade in on the 6s/6s+ because it's their flagship. The bloke at Apple suggested I try the local CEX.

Oh, the actual model of phone you want shouldn't matter as long as it's an apple. You can get either a gift card or instant credit. If you go to the link you can type in your IMEI number, and get a valuation straight away...

When I put my 6s IMEI or serial in the link I get an error message because they don't do trade in on the 6s.

I was told they won't do trade in on the 6s until the 7 is released.
Do you get cash for the phone or Apple credit?

Isn't it!

I'm a little annoyed tbh. I always buy my phones outright and if Apple had just said they would be refreshing the 4" model of have waited and saved myself £200. Plus I'd have had the phone I really wanted.

But hey ho nothing I can do now (can't be bothered selling the 6s and buying the SE and contract prices for the SE are a joke).

Just tried 5c 16gb and it said it wasn't eligible
Just put in the serial and imei for my iPhone 6 and it didn't recognise any of it, rubbish site.
The SE is only £290 on O2 outright
What about an IPad mini first gen ?
If you trade in online you get a gift card. If you trade in instore when you're buying a new Apple thing, you get instant credit that's knocked off the cost of the new thing.
I got £100 for an old iPhone 5C, which I didn't think was too bad.

Stolen goods?
Just to note, the trade-in online is via Brightstar. They told us £75 for the iPhone 4s. We sent it in and they emailed saying the display was not working (no screen content). They then sent us a photo of the screen, lit up perfectly showing the welcome screen! They offered us £0. We told them to send it back, which they did. We then went into the Apple store and got the £75 store credit. The chap in Apple even said it was the most pristine phone he'd seen for a while.
Took my 6 16gb to Apple Store and they gave me £260 on a gift card
I tried mine and they said they couldn't upgrade an Android as it was the best you could buy but they would give me 2p if I could dig out an iphone 6S :-)

Is this online? I can only find contract prices for the SE on the O2 site.
Just tried my iPhone 6 and was offered £250. Is it worth changing form a 6 to a 5se? Apart from the obvious of sizing?
My 6 cuts out when I'm on the phone taken into apple and told it's a fault within the phone which can't be fixed. So, I would have to pay £200 to get a replacement. Just weighting up what to do, any advice would be great

Read up on getting it fixed free using the eu law option if it's out of warranty

Apparently the SE has the processor from the 6s, and the cameras arent as good.
It told me "Device is lost or stolen"

If you bought it direct from Apple then they are pretty good with the EU warranty stuff.

If you didn't and it's outside of its 12 month Apple warranty they'll tell you to return it to the place you bought it.

no you cannot. you only have option to enter the gift coupen once.
For the people who got a 6/6s, but want an SE, why does the size bother you so much? Everyone I know is happy with the bigger size, me included. I completely respect your preference I just don't get it. The non-plus phones are a decent size and you easily adapt.

I find the 6s too big. I can't use it one handed at all never mind comfortably. I've had to put it in a speck candyshell grip case to give it some grip and not feel like I'm constantly about to drop it (or actually dropping it). I've had the 6s for about 6 months now and still think it's too big. Not everyone adapts.

When I make a phone call I feel like I have a slab next to my ear and not a phone.

I only got the 6s because I thought Apple had given up on the 4" line. Had I known it was just 6 months away I would never have gotten the 6s. As for me, the 5/5s/SE size is perfect.

It is on contract-o2 refresh. £49 up front and pay off remaining handset cost (24 months x £10 handset cost)£289. Think it may be on the 30gb tariff.
