As title, please use code GOODDEAL to get this price. This may be voted cold as expensive initial cost but the savings you can make with how cheap apple 4k hdr films are on iTunes it soon pays for itself.

I've got one, sold all my 4K discs and now buy the codes or direct from Apple, much cheaper and as HDTV TEST showed there's virtually no difference in picture quality. Compared about 20 films I had and only could only see any difference on 2 films. Hot hot hot.

apple.com/app…4k/

Is this just the usual 'vote cold because it's Apple' or is there cheaper out there? Was considering getting one.

Amazon Prime app was made available today. If you get the Cheap Charts app for phone or tablet, you can also see what films, tv shows and music is on sale

Vote cold because apple. It hasn't been under £177 which is Groupon. £179 everywhere else. Get a US iTunes as it is very easy to find codes for a couple quid. Buy them in HD, they get upgraded to 4k free

Iplayer, my5 and itv are there for catchup. TvPlayer for live. Also Netflix, Amazon and other streaming options. Plex is available, amongst others (I prefer Infuse, no need for a server)

4K Movies cost between £1.99 and £13.99, and you can only steam 4K (you can download HD versions to a HD via iTunes on a PC). You will need 25mbps broadband to stream 4K - size varies but around 8-12GB

Seems that if it’s your first Groupon purchase you can use code HELLO15 to get it for £157?

Neither code seems to be working

tv player requires a sub right? or is it free bbc, itv1,ch4,ch5

also is dolby atmos coming?

it does dolby vision right?

any news ok 4k youtube?

Agreed, just tried both codes and it’s not accepting them.

For those with Apple TV and looking to boost their 4k collection, I suggest the following, assuming you already have some ultraviolet codes for movies:
- Register with Movies Anywhere (there is a thread on HotUKDeal if you just search on 'Movies Anywhere'.
- Connect any of the linkable accounts (VUDU for uv, google play, Amazon and iTunes).
- For iTunes (as per that other thread), Movies Anywhere does not support UK iTunes accounts. However, there is nothing from stopping you from setting up a U.S. iTunes account, as long as you give a valid U.S. address.
Movies Anywhere, which also has an app for both iPad and AppleTv, pools the licences together and if transferable, populates the other streaming services with your owned movies.

Whereas you cannot switch between your uk and us iTunes accounts and stream movies on your iPhone/iPad without region locking that device for 90 days, Apple TV allows you to freely switch between you two accounts, without issue, and (once linked with Movies Anywhere) will pull in a fair number of (but not all) of your google play and vudu (ultraviolet) Movies into your iTunes movie collection, converting many HD purchases into 4k.
I had around 150 uv titles, most were pulled into the Movies Anywhere app (which you can then freely watch from any region...but I don't believe in 4k) but were also converted into over 50 purchased 4k iTunes movies. Only downside is that you need to switch between your us and uk iTunes Store accounts when wanting to watch you 4k movies from each region.

Can you try streaming one of the ported movies on your Apple box please? I believe it says 4k but when played it is actually HD plus dolby vision or hdr if not bought from iTunes. However it is the hdr that makes all the difference so can barely tell it is not 4k

There is an option for extra channels on TV Player, but the basic channels are free.

No news on Atmos yet, but yes, DV is supported

I don't think 4K YouTube is likely to happen due to the way they stream 4K, which the Apple TV doesn't support

You'll need a working VPN to sign up for MA and Vudu, and most of them seem to have been blocked by this point. I managed to sign up with TunnelBear in the launch window, but they seem to have really clamped down on this now

I believe if you want 4K UV movies in iTunes you have to redeem a 4K UV code, an HD code will not be upgraded to 4K once it ports over to iTunes.

The video showed enough difference for me to stay with discs for now, especially dark scene macro blocking. However, if streaming can reach the levels of a disc and people’s broadband can deal with it without any issues then it’ll be great. I don’t think my 50mb Virgin Media connection will cope lol.

Hi, how do you set up a Vudu app to work on a android or iOS phone/tablet? Been trying for days but it just says US store only... thanks.
