Apple USB-C to Lightning Cable - the only cable that can Fast Charge iPhone 8/X and iPad Pros £14.40 @ Jigsaw24

This cable is not offered by non-apple brands meaning the official apple one is the only option. This is the first time I saw one substantially reduced.

Apple model: MK0X2ZM/A

Why would I need this cable?

  • to connect your iPhone or iPad to MacBook 12" or new MacBook Pro
  • to enable fast charge using compatible USB-C PD charger or any USB-C MacBook charger

Why can't a buy a cheap one from Amazon?

Only Apple makes the USB-C to Lightning Cable. There are no "Made for iPod/iPhone/iPad" USB-C to Lightning cables. If you find a cable like this amazon it may damage your device or not enable fast charge because it's non-compliant.

How is this a good deal?

These cables are rarely on sale. Apple sells them for £25. It's also £25 in Currys, Maplin, Argos, etc.

Fun fact

You can use this cable to charge an iPhone using Nintendo Switch.

Only apply can make you think £15 for a cable is some kind of deal

Yes, apple cables are very overpriced. This one however doesn't have a non-apple equivalent so if you need one you have to buy this one so you might as well save some money by getting this deal instead of paying full apple price for it.

Not convinced this is worth it. The iPhone 8 already charges quickly using a standard lightning cable and 2A charger plug.

Ordered, thanks!

On a device worth £1k I wouldn't be risking a dodgy cable which could brick my device to save £9.

I think you misunderstood. This deal is for an official, genuine Apple cable, it's just offered cheaper than in the Apple Store.

That I did! Apologies read it as the 1st third party cable.

Who in their right mind pays £15 let alone over twenty for a single cable. A fool and their money are soon parted.
Just got a pack of 5 micro usb for less than £4, normally pay about £1 each. Suggest if Apple rip customers off to this extent you show them the same respect and stop buying their goods for a while.

Ordered thanks. Just need to to to find a decent priced usb c plug

Another reason I won’t be buying another Apple phone.

Quick check on amazon shows that USB-C to micro-usb cables from reputable brands like Belkin cost £15 as well. Google's official USB-C cables are £20 each. Shocking, I know...

Thanks. Was after one of these. Over £10 in pocket

How is this a hot deal? It’s a blatant rip off. Sub Zero wins!!!

Some very differing opinions here; personally I think that's a good spot and deal Paul534 for an official Apple cable

Plenty of generic (non-Apple) cables on Amazon.
Search: USB-C to Lightning Cable

Or, buy a USB C to USB 3.0 A Female Adaptor Cable and use the existing USB A Male to Lightning Cable.

I would suggest reading around about USB type C. They are a total different kettle of fish in comparison, fake or low quality ones might not just charge your phone possibly slower but instead totally fry it.As another poster has already said, both Samsung and Google also charge around the same price for type c. Again also would you risk a £700-£1k device to save a few pounds on a generic cable and if anything goes wrong warranty out the window?.

Great price. Ordered, thanks

I can make use of one but not wasting the money on this. It’s only benefit is being able to fast charge and iPhone or iPad and you still need a USB-C charger capable of Power Delivery. If it’s just to charge the phone normally off a new MacBook then a USB-C to A adapter and a regular cable will be just fine

Bought 20. Thanks.

Agree, and it's a shame many are missing the point and voting cold because it's an expensive cable instead of considering if it should be voted hot because it's a good deal against RRP for an expensive cable.

Good price.

Always makes me smile when folk don’t understand the principle of this site.
it’s not called “ I
don’t ‘get’ deals really and I just need a good moan.com

A deal is a deal.

Yeah don’t understand why this is cold. The current situation is that if we want fast charging on iPad Pro or iPhone X, we are going need that cable, and afaik this is the only choice we have. Yes I know £14 for a cable is ridiculous but given that the only other option is £25. This is a bloody good deal at 40% discount.

Is data transfer faster instead of just usb2 speed? I use WiFi for music transfer which is faster than usb2 but my iPhone 7 Plus doesn’t take advantage of the usb3 for data although seems a little quicker to charge.

Must be strikingly hot its Lightning cable after all.

banggood do a blitzwolf one for just over a fiver and it’s fast charge cable usb to lightening

Generic, non-compliant cables are dangerous or may not work properly.

Usb female adapter is NOT compatible with Fast Charge. It will work for data transfer but the charging speed will be limited.

Thanks op

To some that have iPhones, iPads and MacBook Pro purchase coming, this is a decent price.

Have this stuff for work so a tenner saved - thanks OP!

Was going to get this but Northern Ireland delivery is £10.99!!! For a wire! - No saving there for me then.

As per official Apple support website: “Only Apple makes the USB-C to Lightning Cable. There are no “Made for iPod/iPhone/iPad” USB-C to Lightning cables.”

This means that unlike other cables which are Made For Phone certified (like normal lightning cables made by Belkin, Anker, etc) this specific cable doesn’t have an official third party spec yet. This means that the cables that exist, reverse engineer this cable without official support. Considering that this cable allows accelerated USB-C charging profiles for latest iPhones and iPads, it’s important to get the certified one.

Digging this up again for everyone: This is a great deal!

ONLY Apple manufacture a Made for iPhone USB-C to Lightning cable. This is the ONLY safe cable available to buy that you can use to superfast charge your iPhone 8 or X.

If there were third parties making affordable MFI USB-C to Lightning cables then of course I'd buy those in a heartbeat and I'd provide a link to them here; unfortuntely Apple doesn't allow third parties to make these types of cable.
