Apple watch £50.00 OFF with FREE 2nd year guarantee £289 till 30th March @ johnlewis

32
Found 19th Mar 2016
This deal has been on a few times with Curry's (available there) and John Lewis
Basically it is £50.00 off the Apple watch Sport & up to £120 off the stainless apple Watch.
I have put the sport 42mm as it is their most popular model.
Apple do have an event on Monday and they wont be lauching a new model. In fact its unlikely a new model will be lauched this year.
I have the 42mm sport and wouldn't be without it. Please feel free to ask why!
Cheers

Why

I have my iphone and apple watch on silent, and get notifications via the apple watch 'haptic feedback'.
Its amazing how much better not hearing a phone ring is.
Thats just one of many reasons.

I get the same with my pebble time. also use it to control the music player on my iPhone as well which is always handy when travelling on public transport.

Don't use it for apps as such, but do have a football scores one i do sometimes check.

This is a decent deal but will likely go cold for no other reason than it's apple ..

Love my apple watch

Used this deal when it was on at Christmas at John Lewis. Love my watch and as an extension of the iPhone I couldn't be without it now.
As a fitness freak the sport and health features are second to none.
Got a lot of 3rd party accessories off of Gearbest since then.
Pricey, but if you can justify the money then go for it.

Useless device. Voted cold.

Okay thanks, my link is to JLP though as you get that 2nd year gaurantee and no quibble returning an opened box if you want to (which I'm sure you wouldn't).

There is an Apple announcement at 5pm Monday - possibly a new watch will be announced so existing watches may drop a lot more than this.

why are you SO sure ?

I am an Apple fan but far prefer Android watches (eg Huawei) which are way more versatile for less money

I dont work for apple but they would be foolish to launch a 2nd generation so soon.
Edition owners who paid £8,500 to £12,000 would not expect a 2nd generation on Monday.
There are other reasons too.

Almost as useful as a £100 pencil

Not an artist then as the Apple pencil is excellent and a real challenger to Wacom.

To be honest, if it's fitness that you want the watch for, at this time you're better looking at the dedicated fitness watches.

I'll be sticking with my pebble as a smartwatch which does all I need as a general watch, and switch to my Fenix 2 for sports. I don't have an iPhone so an apple watch without a phone isn't really gaining anything.

For the prices I'll look towards the newer Garmins which are more attuned to my setup. Going to be cheaper than buying a watch and a phone!

DCRainmaker.com has done an in depth review of the Apple Watch from a sports point of view which is a good unbiased look at what it can and can't do.

is a really excellent well written review, thanks for posting.
I especially like the fact he has used three apple watches so as to avoid device error.

Appreciate the advice.
To be honest the fitness aspects of the Apple Watch were always gonna be a secondary consideration but happily it's a nicely handled aspect.

I guess it depends as well on what sort of sport/fitness you're doing. I've just been out on a practice fell run and having spent lots of money on a nice looking business watch I think I'd be petrified using it whilst falling down the side of a hill oO

Haha, yeah I'd be terrified too. But mostly with the falling down the side of a hill aspect

Well today's Apple event came with an Apple Watch price drop so whilst I'm sure the majority of HUKDers didn't have a crystal ball to foretell this, I'm guessing it may have been on the agenda hence the votes
