Went for the s4, but I see there's a few of these appeared. Seems a good price for an athos refurb.

I had one for a few weeks and ditched it. I kept missing notifications on my iPhone because, apparently, when it was locked it sent the notifications to the watch and when i'm indoors, the watch is usually in the kitchen while i'm in the living room.

Went back to my Pebble Time in the end.

Trying to follow: isn’t the watch on your wrist? How do you miss the notification? Thanks

There's a few on there from argos if you look under other items from that seller.

No, when I get home I take the watch off and leave it in the kitchen. I then go into the living room and sit down on the settee to watch tv and the phone is often on the seat next to me.

I was sitting there one night and happened to pick up the phone and saw I'd received a text from someone about 15 minutes earlier and I hadn't heard the notification noise even though i'd been sitting there for about an hour.

Ok, this is curious.
I’ve only just got a new watch and I don’t want this to happen.
Can anyone else explain this please? Is there a flaw in the notification system where the phone doesn’t alert if the watch is paired with it?
I’m brand new to the watch and experienced replies would be much appreciated!

The most I could ascertain is that if the watch is set to mirror the iphone then that was how apple designed it - for you to essentially wear the watch all the time.

You could turn off the notifcations on the watch so that they only appeared on the phone but, for me, that defeated the whole object.

At least with the pebble time i can still get them on the watch and phone - the only one that doesn't work is email but then I think that's always been a long standing problem with iPhones as it is.
If I haven’t got my watch on, the phone will chime as normal. Maybe your phone was on silent?

Nope, I never had it on silent at home.

I mean it's a moot point now as I got rid of it, but i did like the convenience of having Apple Pay on my wrist which is the main thing i'll likely miss about it.

When you take the watch off it should lock and your phone will get the notifications. You had Apple Pay so you didn’t have wrist detection turned off (you can’t with Apple Pay enabled) so no idea how this actually happened. Been using an Apple Watch for 5 years and never had this issue.

Could it have been an issue with the watch itself maybe ?

i did wonder if I should have persevered with it at the time before I got rid of it as there are a lot of aspects of it I do like

Never happened to me either and I've had it for a few years now. Whenever I take it off, or put it on the charging stand, the watch 'locks' and doesn't receive any notifications.

Is it possible something else was paired to the iPhone, maybe the Pebble?
Thank you for all the useful and helpful responses.
I’ll be keeping my Series 5 that I picked up last week thanks to a deal posted here

the one thing it might have been actually is my bluetooth earbuds. i've had occasion when i've put them back in the charging case and they haven't properly unpaired with the phone i've had. it happened a few times when I had an android phone, but i hadn't necessarily noticed it on the iPhone, but it would explain it.
