When this product was launched there was a subscription to pay each month, from memory with EE, it was £5.00 PM

Has something changed?

If not I think OP should mention 'subcription required for data'.

Subscription is an option not a requirement. If you want it you can pay for it which will let you use the watch without the phone. You don’t have to buy it though. I have the series 3 cellular without subscription.

Yes to be fair though, for full functionality a subscription is required, and that should be mentioned in OP.

It's a bit like buying a phone and being told if you want to browse the internet you need a data allowance you need to pay extra.
But being told after you have bought said phone.

As dreamz already mentioned
The additional £5 per month with EE is optional and you don’t have to pay for it. You can use without cellular or any additional payment but still have the cellular version.
Don’t forget the cellular version has ceramic back and 16gb unlike unlike the non cellular with only 8gb so worth it just for that deany76.

I intended to use none cellular

Your right to use it cellular you’ll need to contact EE as an optional extra but you don’t have to if ya don’t want cellular.
When sim free mobile phones are advertised does anyone say you need a SIM card and a call & text tariff etc it’s common sense.

This is a deal site not a product advice site. If you are spending £359 on a technology product and you need to be told how it works by a random stranger on a forum rather than doing your own research before purchasing then you need your head examining.
The grey strap version is now sold out but other strap versions are still same reduced price.
That olive strap don’t look bad was hoping for a black strap though

How did you get the 15% code working? Assume it's PMAY4TH?

EDIT: Sussed it out Got the APPLE Watch Nike+ Series 3 Cellular - 42 mm Silver & Pure Platinum / Black for £347.65 (saving £81.35 on the normal price).

With respect, I think you are missing the point.

The point being why do apple feel they have to mention it:

1. Wireless service plan required for cellular service. Apple Watch and iPhone service provider must be the same. Not available with all service providers. Not all service providers support business accounts; check with your employer and service provider. Some legacy plans may not be compatible. Pay‑as‑you‑go plans are not supported. Roaming is not available outside your carrier network coverage area. Contact your service provider for more details. Check apple.com/uk/…lar for participating wireless carriers and eligibility.

I completely disagree with what you’re saying. Other wise everytime someone posts a dvd or Blu-ray will they need to say DVD player or Blu-ray player needed?? PS4 pro. Tv is needed!!! Just go be stupid somewhere else

There is no need to be offensive.
The examples you give don't mention the need for additional spend when advertised.

Where as apple feel it necessary for a reason, without mentioning 'subcription required for data' they would be misleading the general public.

How am i being offensive?. Of course you need additional spend when buying a dvd how else would u watch it. Apple are purely pointing out if you want to use the cell stuff u will need to pay. So op doesn’t need to point it out ether.

How did you get it to work, care to share
Wow can’t believe your still bleeting on, wish I’d stayed awake last night to watch this evolve, had some popcorn as well.

It’s called covering your backside deany76.
I can’t believe you can’t figure out why the likes of every retailer will and should put the additional info of £5 required to use the cellular functions. I’ll give you a clue “customer service meltdown”.

As I mentioned you don’t need to use cellular.

The deal here is that it’s:
Cellular (if required) how many of us really leave our phones at home.
42mm
16gb (unlike the non cellular 8gb)
Ceramic back (unlike the non cellular)

All this for less than a non cellular

Ya don’t have to be Columbo to figure it out it’s a no brainer & a good deal which is what my post was all about in first place
Edited by: "madmurd" 5th May
The deal expired at 7 PST so it won’t work now, but you had to change your registration address to one on America then the code worked.
