I am in the same boat as you, wife on cycle 2 now. The HR/Afib and ECG are really useful to monitor and benchmark the health baseline pre- and post- treatment.

Great price, shame there’s no 44mm!
I had been tracked all day for this 40mm one, which stock appeared in the last hour. So keep an eye on it, 44mm stock may come back later today or tomorrow before the code expires tomorrow.
Got one thanks, spent too long deciding and really don’t wanna get my daughter any older than series 4 and at this price it’s barely any extra than a new series 4 has been coming up for. Thanks
Even better it’s on PayPal credit so will pay over next couple of months interest free and paid before Christmas which is when I’d of bought outright anyway but this way I’ll not miss £350+ all at once
Same here may have saved a few quid but would rather at get newest model for future longevity for the sake of say £50

My only issue is now my teenage daughter has the newest best watch5 and I’m stuck keeping my s3 for another year

All gone now?

I've decided if they add the 44mm back i'll take that as a signal to stop dithering and waste £369 (well £307 as i'll get the VAT back)

Odd I only see the £749 SS one when I refresh their shop.

Can see it now I done a new search for some reason they don't show up in the AO shop when you search for Apple Watch. Lets see if 44mm turns up.

The always-on display makes a huge difference if you actually use the watch to check the time. I'd never get a 4 if you can afford the extra for a 5.
mine arrived today for my wife (Birthday pressie) but she's got an iPhone 6 plus which doesn't update to latest operating system

Guess she's getting two bday pressies this year. Hope you get some "love" in return

On a serious note, just realised that means my Dad is stuck on OS 5.3.1 He doesn't really need a new phone, but if they start rolling out improvements to the Heart Monitor this is going to force a Phone upgrade. Doh!!!!

Yeah I’m waiting for the 6 from myself hopefully it’ll have something good on it and pleased daughter had the 5 now but I didn’t think the always on would make a difference i don’t miss the fact the 3 doesn’t have it? It’s always on when I look at it, what does it actually help with?

I had the 3 before. It's only on if you lift and rotate your wrist. I like to be able to check my watch in meetings without it being obvious that I'm doing so, and I frequently just glance at it without moving my wrist at other times as well. If the 3 doesn't bother you that way then you probably don't need a 5 - although the battery life does seem a whole lot better in spite of the always-on display.

Yeah I think cos I’m happy with the 3 and it does what I need it too (time, notifications, see whose calling so can answer on earbuds if want too without getting phone out while driving, Apple Pay, couple other little things like heart rate in gym) the rest I don’t use much and battery lasts a day easy no matter how much I use it. I’d like to occasionally check ecg just to be nosey but can use daughters now for that. I’m just hoping next year brings something new I’d really like because 3 years with same one will be enough for me. Always on could help but because I’m used to lifting wrist I don’t notice it anymore.

To be honest it’s like the phones last couple of years little improvements but definitely worth getting the latest one, it’ll be updated for a good few years. The 3 is still good but maybe only get a year or 2 still it’s running slow and too old tech and you’d want more than a year or 2, the series 4 is barely any cheaper so at this price you made right choice. If your over 40/50 the health features could be really good as well and if your a younger woman it has features that are supposed to be good as well.

Pretty shady really, considering that’s above rrp I know they do it to other items when deals are on but to out over rrp is just chancing it cos people will still probably go for it since with code it’s £40 under rrp but the code is on offer so they shouldn’t change prices just cos of that.
Proper lame to inflate the price by £20...

Seems acceptable to me. It’s up to them what price they charge. Like you say, with code it was still a saving on rrp.

Disagree, unless they plan to sell over RRP after the offer. The headline offer is 20% off (upto £60), by inflating the price above RRP just for the offer period it strikes me as a blatant bait and switch.

When other retailers do it, they at least use the higher price outside the offer period for a while.

To give them the benefit of the doubt it may have been an error, as the others were all RRP (including same model before it went OOS).

Yeah and usually when others charge higher prices they still don’t charge over rrp and I believe it’s eBay that take the £60 hit and not the seller so they should be pleased to sell a massive amount at their usual full rrp price

I'm pretty sure the retailer takes a hit as well. Otherwise they'd all subscribe to the offer.

It's £50 (excl VAT), we can only guess at the split between retailer/eBay.

Yeah maybe I just remember I got something on a deal a while ago and it was faulty so I asked for replacement since they had in stock but they refused and offered refund of what I paid and said the offer was eBay offer so I’d have to pay full price to re order

Really they should have been able to swap as the faulty one would go back to manufacturer.

Unless they were the manufacturer, in which case I guess they wouldn't get eBays contribution of the offer for the replacement.
Hi Gang,

For all that got stung for an extra £20,00, as i was after AO increased the price from £399,99 to £420.00 after they relisted this 40mm Gold Series 5.

I messaged AO via eBay messaging & told them how unhappy i was at a National company such as AO ripping people off & taking advantage of eBay's "PLENTIFUL" CODE 20% OFF offer, by increasing the price of this watch to £20.01 above the RRP!

A very helpful AO member of staff replied to say as with all AO deals they will price match for exact like for like deals. & if i found one send them the link:
I Sent them a link to argos website that was & still is selling the Gold 40mm Series 5 watch for £399.99

I received a refund of £20.01 from AO via paypal within 72 hours
AO.com price match
Certainly worth remembering for the future!
