cracking deal compared to the normal selling price
the added 2 year accidental cover is £25 but has no excess so seems a good deal for once too

There'll be a newer version before xmas. Someone's gonna be disappointed with this one.
£70 off is a decent deal for a Series 2 model. Been wanting one for ages.

Nice trolling
Hot for the price. Cold for the strap.
Excellent watch if this is the series 2. II use mine for my swimming. It's the only smart watch/tracker that accurately records your workout.

I doubt it. Gen 1 released march 15 and gen 2 released September 16. If apple follows the same pattern we should expect a new one in mar 18.

I'll put £50 on it that there won't be
I was looking to get the 38mm one but it's the same price as the 42mm. Seems a but weirded but heat for the 42mm watch at that price!

You're so wrong. The watch is very useful in so many ways, I hardly wear any of my other watches since getting the Apple Watch

Well I've had my series 2 for months and wouldn't like to be without. Convenient notifications, run tracking, calorie tracking, offline podcast playing, calendar and used for the first time played my golf yesterday and it was excellent, giving distances to the green from wherever you are standing. Couldn't be happier with mine!

Agreed , they probably can't afford one so are spouting jealous anecdotal nonsense instead X)
I assume you change the strap?
Can someone confirm this is a series2 watch please?

Not everyone is ungrateful you might be to receive it but my son won't be so good luck buying the new one before Xmas haha!

I love my apple watch. I loved my previous watches (garmin vivosmart and a Fossil pretty one ) but since getting the 2 in February, the other ones havent been worn. Brilliant bit of kit! Worth every penny.

It is 100%
Has anyone owned this second gen model and used it for swimming as that is one of the reasons i'd like to get one.
Is it just the appearance that is different to the other series 2 watches or is there any functional difference?
Shame its not the space grey version.

Looks like apple have changed some straps as Nike+ only comes with a plan black or plane white strap now.
Good price for Series 2! Picked up Series 1 for £199 a couple of months ago. Heat added.

Series 2 is Water Proof up to 50m and suitable for Swimming. Also has a little vibrating mesh feature which pushes any excess water out after the swim. Series 1 is only Water Resistant unfortunately.
Just as easy to get your phone out of your pocket and read it on a bigger screen. Saving yourself ££££££

Well there's a lot more added to it than just notifications. I'd say 50-60% of the reasons people get this are for activity tracking, HR monitoring and fitness related. Then there's Apple Pay, being able to answer or make calls whilst your phone is upstairs charging for example or not missing important notifications etc, the list goes on and on.

It's easier to raise your wrist than to dig your phone out of your pocket. Had mine for a few months now and it is far more useful a device than I anticipated, if anything. My most used feature thus far, is being able to control music etc from your wrist, which is very handy when cycling etc it's almost worth owning for notifications alone, but there is so much more to it.

except for a garmin

I have had an Apple Watch and a Garmin, whilst AW is ok for basic fitness, if you are even a little bit serious the Garmin will blow it out the water.

Sorry, thanks for the reply. This is all information I know and am aware of. My question was perhaps poorly worded. I was looking for some first hand feedback from people have used it for swimming regularly and I was wondering if it is recommended by swimmers or if people have had any problems with it.

So what is it the Garmin does so much better than the Apple Watch? The fitness info the AW gives for swimming is just exactly what I want as I am not interested in any other info and it's hard to think what other info can be given in any case. I am also not talking just about fitness here but the overall package with all the other features the AW gives you when integrated with the IPhone. Can the Garmin beat the overall package? I sincerely doubt it.
