Used to be three years! So price has dropped and so has the years. I bought applecare off ebay and got three years for a third less than apple. Not sure how he did it and it was 8 years ago now but this is not as good as it sounds

2 years instead of three years is 33.3% less coverage for just a 22% reduction in price

I doubt AppleCare+ can be bought on eBay. AppleCare can be, AppleCare+ is tied to serial number electronically from Apple’s website. Also, it has always been 2 years for Watch (except Edition), iPhone and iPad.
Mac has been 3 years.

Misinformation. Fact is that it has always been 2 years for iOS devices theiphonewiki.com/wik…are

AppleCare+ added support for 3 years back in 2014, but only when educational institutions get it.
Glad I had it when my macbooks screen died 2 and a half years into its life. Not sure if this is a great price though
Apple even state on their site ( linked from the OP link) that you are covered for 6 years under statutory rights

Good if it is just goes wrong (thanks for highlighting this) but not so great if you drop it. However I never take out insurances on devices and in 10 years of owning iPhones I’ve had 1 smashed screen.

I've just had a 21 month old ipad pro 9.7" replaced free without Applecare being bought. It simply wouldn't switch on/constantly in recovery or DFU mode.

The new replacement was done on their systems detailed as "Consumer Law"

This only applies if bought direct from Apple. If you buy from Argos then your statutory rights would apply with Argos and not Apple.
