Does anyone have an idea when this sale ends?

rikstar555

That was an unfortunate mistake I made in 2017. The fridge stopped working last year. 20 odd engineer visits still didn't fix it. Hotpoint customer service is terrible.

jazzuk777

Yeah I wouldn't, why would anyone

rikstar555

Don't buy hotpoint.

mrchuckles2002

These non pumbled water dispensers are a waste of time for me. You never end up having the bottled water to put in them. Having had both. The plumbed in ones are so much less hassle and so you get more use out of them as it's just like a really cold water tap.

It has multiple HDMI sockets, but only 1 is the new HDMI 2.1 standard. This is a super premium product, and a lot of the more exotic features (3000+ nits peak brightness, HDMI 2.1 etc) currently cost a lot of money........no doubt, in a couple of years these features will be more mainstream and be adopted into midranges as costs drop. It's all relative as to whether you see this as value or otherwise. If you were prepared to pay £2k for this TV then this is great value, but if you don't crave those features or have a lower budget then this will be seen as an extravagent waste of money.

N1Andy

I have a PC already, and it's a very different experience to console gaming (as well as being inordinately more expensive) - nowhere near as casual pick up and play. I much prefer gamning on a console for all except 1st person shooters, particularly on a big screen. . . . ......but why are we talking about relative gaming poreferences in a TV bargaion thread?

DigitalKnight

Only one HDMI socket is the major negative that’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen! Also it only cost me £350 for my 55 inch and I don’t care if it’s 4K or 8k!

Richief

I doubt you would see much benefit from 8k on a 55" screen but still a good price, heat.

Norseg

Juat get a PC bro, way more games and you can pirate Xbox games are on Windows 10 anyways sometimes Steam so if i was gonna console say for GTA 6 whenever that's out if they decide to make it console only for a year than iwould get PC and PS5 I wonder if they're gonna announce ut they recently confirmed its the next game and im assuming they want to release it on current gen otherwise poor sales but definitely not coming this year Anyway new gen is gonna be pointless since current gen will have guaranteed support for lije 2yrs meaning If you bought an One X you can play the new Halo or something like that That's good since its fairly new and still powerful Edit .. Oh almost PlayStation games are coming to PC not all but it started with Hezvy Rain, Beyomd Two Souls than Detroit become human Now rheyre gonna port Horizon Zer Dawn I personally wamt Spiderman

frakison

How about gaming? Is there any lag on OLED?

Paul_Sear

I was scared as well and very tempted with Qled or Sony, but kept getting drawn back to oled. Was going to wait for 48 inch oled next year but fell for a great deal on my E9 in Crampton and Moore. With the burn in tests to review and real world usage of 3 year old panel not saying burn is a risk and the new screen technology I took the plunge. HD and 4k is amazing.

Don't worry about any consumer rights being affected by using Quidco. You still purchase directly with whatever retailer you've chosen. It simply tracks how you got to their website that's all. Your payment isn't affected in anyway. If you are ever concerned about section 75 just always use a credit card as any issues you can speak to your card provider.

When I dismantled my fridge I found a huge block of ice encasing the fan, coils and down the drain line. When everything had defrosted it could be seen that it was supposed to be the "new design" which wasn't supposed to freeze over. This had a metal plate leading up to the fan hole and a metal piece pointing down towards the drain. These were supposed to conduct heat from the heating element to prevent freezing but it didn't work perfectly. I suspect over time, water would condense on the inner walls of the drain line. This condensation would frost over and it would gradually get thicker and thicker until a far section of the drain line is blocked. It depends on luck and how often the fridge is opened and the humidity of the kitchen, but some take weeks while others take months/years. But once the drain line is frozen then the coils and fan follow. After the drain line has fully defrosted (check by pouring hot water down it to see whether if it comes out of the back). I took a length of decently thick copper wire and doubled it up then wound this around a pen to get a coil to increase the surface area. The uncoiled end was tightly wound around the heating element many times and then the coiled end was fed down the drain line. This conducts plenty of heat down the drain line so that it never freezes. Everything stems from the drain line freezing, so if you fix that then the coils and fan would never freeze over. Also make sure the openings in the rubber drain tubes leading into the drain pan at the back of the fridge are clean and not blocked, so that the water is not backed up and given a chance to freeze.

Avoid Samsung American style fridge freezers at all costs. The issue with previous but similar model Samsung twin cooling model is covered here. https://www.hotukdeals.com/discussions/samsung-rs21-fridge-watchdog-154892 My own packed up 1 months after Samsung stopped offering the free repairs and just outside of warranty. Despite an almost 100% failure rate they did not contact customers to instigate repair. I have had to pay for fitting 2 new temp sensors, modify the internal rear panel of the fridge with a spacer kit to reduce the frequency with which I have to dismantle the fridge. Roughly once every year i still have to defrost the cooling matrix at the rear wth a hair dryer to stop the fan fowling ( which is what causes the fridge and freezer to overheat, the fixes reduce this from a monthly occurance to an annual one - if it is left it has on multiple occasions caused the entire freezer to spontaneously defrost and warms up the fridge rather than cools) Samsung knew all about the issues but made a financial decision that remediation would have been too expensive. Ignoring any customer service or fitness of the product for sale, not to mention customer loyalty . Avoid any white goods from Samsung , evidently their testing must not include UK climates otherwise they would never have sold these in the first place. Buy any other brand but not Samsung.

Just ordered this from richersounds , got it for £1079, got them to price match rgbdirect, they have it for £1199 but using easter100 code it’s £100 off , richersounds took a further £20 due to the price match 😁, would have preferred to pay the price in this deal but still not bad considering the 6 year warranty.

MIDURIX

Painfully slow for me that site. Ends up being £993 delivered with 1 year warranty so I wouldn't consider that cheap. £36 less.
