Its only a matter of time before your price point is reached. If you don't need it right now just wait. My price point is £1000. Have been using a budget Furrion 55" TV for the last 5 years. Going to hang on until the £1000 price is reached unless it breaks down. Then I will have to think again

The £1799 deal with the sound bar is back up at crampton and moore
Edited by moderator: "Apr 10, 2017 21:46" 10th Apr

I bought one from Reliant Direct last week for £1749.99 delivered using the 'SAVE250' code advertised at the time. So the codes do work. I'd highly recommend Reliant Direct after my experience, they were exceptional.

Paul

You're right.
The £1699 deal was up for a few days but it's down now and replaced with the free sound bar deal.

It's a recurring deal though, it'll probably be back up in a few days.

No issues at all, great TV

Absolutely..just a few haters on forums that have had numerous issues. I actually like that particular model, probably the best LED you can get for that kind of money.
I think OLED could lead the way this year with Sony and Panasonic joining the party. Once there is a 55" 4K OLED for under £1000 then people will go crazy for it. Not sure how long that will take though.

Nice! I have re-sbmitted my price match for the extra £10 off! Thats the way which JL do their price matches as far as i'm aware. Refund is quite quick unless using paypal originally to purchase as that may take more time to process the refund.

Your link is for 49" curve version and this is for the 55". Its a question of personal preference I think. If you have the positioning set good in the room for curve then it may well suite your needs! Apparently good viewing angles are reduced for the curve though.

Screen specs wdbsite states this is an 8bit screen, however the lg websites seems to imply this has hdr10 and dolbyvision (indicating a 10bit screen) - if thats correct then this is a bargain!

Not voting either way but personally I wouldn't even consider buying a TV of this size without a 5 year warranty. John Lewis, Richer Sounds always, and Panasonic Samsung or Sony will often do a 5 year deal. With a bit of effort price matching you can save a lot of heartache later on for a very reasonable price.

I've personally bought a number of TVs over the years, and have had 3 TVs (different brands) fail in the last year of the warranty. All mine were with John Lewis, and each time I have ended up with a new TV. For me it's a no brainer.

Yep, you're correct.......

Dear Cutthroat_Jake,

Thank you for your enquiry.

In order to apply a price reduction on a purchase, the criteria in our pricing policy must be met. I regret that after review the request you have submitted does not match all or parts of this policy.

Appliance Electronics' Service Conditions state;

"In most cases we are unable to change the delivery date once you have confirmed that you will be available on the given date. If we are able to change the delivery date, an administration fee of GBP15.00 will be charged to action this request.

All side by side & large fridge freezers, washing machines, cookers, dishwashers & brown goods will be delivered to the ground floor level only, till the doorstep or gate of the building and cannot be carried up or down any staircases. In some cases goods may be delivered inside your premises (ground floor only), strictly at the drivers discretion and judgement, provided that the goods go through with the packaging on and there are no staircases involved. This will however be at the customer's own risk and we shall not be liable for any damages that may occur to goods or your property. This policy also applies to collections.

We reserve the right to charge a 15% handling fee on any goods returned as faulty after the first 14 days of delivery, Which are found to be in good working order before returning goods back to you.

You are responsible for your own shipping costs when returning faulty goods after the first 14 days from date of purchase, We will in turn be responsible for the cost of shipping goods back to you.

Delivery/collection cost of white goods starts from £75 one way, customers who return goods within 28 days of delivery will have delivery charges applied unless products are confirmed faulty."

John Lewis will not charge the customer to reschedule a delivery. We will deliver the goods to the room of your choice and John Lewis will charge £29.95 for the collection of unwanted large electrical appliances only.

In order to match a price request, high street competitors trade on the same basis as us, with premises on a high street or comparable shopping destination freely open to the public in the UK mainland. They should carry a reasonable range of goods in stock for you to buy and take away, with clearly displayed prices. Their websites need to trade under the same brand and on the same basis as their high street shops.

Outlets which trade on a different basis to us, such as those that operate only on the internet or through mail-order, showrooms attached to internet-only companies, collection points, auction sites, factory outlets, membership clubs, duty-free shops, market stalls or home shopping channels, are not deemed equivalent high street competitors. We also don't match competitors who are in administration or closing down.

Therefore, on this occasion I regret that I cannot match the price offered by Applaince Electronics. If you would like to view more information about Never Knowingly Undersold and our pricing you can do so on our website.

I am sorry I have not been able to reduce the price on this occasion. If you require any further information or assistance please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours sincerely,

JohnLewis.com

No need to buy any additional cover (money down the drain) because you have six years to take a claim to the small claims court for faulty goods in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and five years in Scotland.

This doesn't mean that a product has to last six years - just that you have this length of time in which to make a claim if a retailer refuses to repair or replace a faulty product.

good question and I did order that one but cancelled my order because they wouldn't upgrade me to the 6400 that came into stock for £30 more and still give me the 20% discount.

Thats last years base 6000 model though and has a PQI (picture quality index) rating of 800 - this years base model here has a PQI of 1300

for comparison last years JU6800 has a PQI of 1400 and the 60 inch got to 268 degrees yesterday @ £999

I honestly dont know much about it all but apparently this years models have better brightness and better contrast levels which I guess is reflected in the PQI figures but the ju6800 (link above) has a nano crystal display?!?

I think Id still go with the new model though.
