Yeh, not a bad deal. Funny how new born is never on offer!
lol my guess, giving growing up milk is a choice so not everyone buys it, whilst newborn is essential, so they keep that price nice and high, those greedy fat cats,
your right buddy, but some women dont want to feed breast milk too much for whatever reason, (don't want saggy boobs lol) or they find it painful like my misus, this is 1 year+, its better than cows milk with probiotics, iron, and lots of other stuff, however it is a rip off, at 1 year kids can have cows milk,
Jeepers don't be so judgemental WhatsThePoint. Contrary to popular belief breastfeeding isn't a piece of cake for all mums and babies. It was bloody hard work for me, and for my sister it took a huge herculean effort and lots of help from professionals to get get a few weeks of BF. Then factor in a baby who loathes cows milk - and goats milk - and you're more than a bit stuck. Son was 2 years old before he decided he liked drinking cows milk.

babies are designed to have breast milk then solids, where does this crap … babies are designed to have breast milk then solids, where does this crap fit in

Very narrow minded comment.
A lot of women would much prefer to breast feed but can't for one reason or other.
Pain, non-production of milk, mastitis etc I'm a bloke and know I wouldn't like something chomping on my nipples 6-7 times a day!
To answer SamuelSmith, there are laws re offers and promotions of Newborn formulae lobby precisely because of the BF lobby. You see them stipulate so on the fine print of every money saving coupon from supermarkets etc. Infant formulae is right there next to tobacco. Because giving a child who has lost his mother formulae is like giving them tobacco, it seems.

I think all the Under 6 month stuff is like that because gov official guidelines is at least 6 months BF.

ok lets make this simple for you, since when have babies needed to be fed … ok lets make this simple for you, since when have babies needed to be fed this crap, they have managed for 1000's of years without it, the only people claiming you need to feed it to kids are the manufacturers who saw a gap in the market to get stupid parents to buy something that wasn't needed

Lets say you and your partner have a awesome baby, your partner is unable to breastfeed, for whatever reason, not even by choice and its a medical issue, you cant give cows milk because a babies digestive system is unable to withstand cows milk, even though in the uk we pasturise our milk and kill most of the natural bacteria in milk, a newborn baby cant drink cows milk, what do you feed your child?...... Pringles...?

once they hit one, they can have cows milk, no issues, but if a parent wants to give their child growing up milk which has more calcium, prebiotics, supplements such as iron for brain development, and its far cleaner than cows milk which is processed before being sold in shops, then thats the parents choice,

saying that it wasn't used 1000's years ago is a weak statement, 1000s of years ago we didnt have many things that we rely on today,

i also agree without you too, we live in a world of processed junk, and we should avoid it, the manufacturers just want to make money off us, they would be more than happy to sell us milk from rats and call it natural milk, its all about the money, and we must be wise and read the labels,

for example, lots of sugar free things for kids contain aspartame, it is a silent killer, yet it is used in fruit drinks,

I'm with WTP and pretty sure he wasn't slagging off formula feeders (where people can't/don't breastfeed) but the people that feed their kids this unnecessary stuff when they are old enough for cows milk, could be wrong mind.

This has more vitamins, minerals etc than cows milk but if your child is eating a healthy balanced diet which they absolutely should be then that along with cows milk should be fine.

Just my two pence.

1000's of years ago what was the average age of people and how many babies died before they turned one!
Get with the times you ignorant caveman!
