They are like £60 in America.. I'll buy one for £100 or less even though I don't have the room
“Riser raises the arcade to 57.8" I was not aware of that
this changes things

I know what you mean but you're right this will go very cold as it's not even a good price for the UK with Smyths and Argos selling them at a similar price and the US cost being less than half the UK one which adds insult to injury.

I feel your pain, but this is for the sort of people that think RetroPie is a quality way to play games.

Is retropie not good?

What do you recommend?
mame...
These come flat packed. So abit of diy.

they feel cheap when playing on them
You can replace the controls (various YouTube videos on this) and also fit a raspberry pi in and bypass the inbuilt system. I bought the street fighter one with riser as a project when bored
Was in Costco looking at this and the moan was one 2 games on it for this price. It would be a better deal if space invaders and asteroids was on it to make a better retro games machine.
Is the riser a pallet?

I have a dream to own a proper Asteroids arcade machine one day. Only problem is that they cost about £3k.

Nice observational comedy there Micky Flanagan
I'd rather go for a 2 player one, like this Street Fighter 2 version for £300 from Argos (without riser):

1up Arcade SF2

Then if ever you did plug in a Raspberry Pi at least there's two sets of controls for playing with mates.

But I don't have the room for either , so I'd likely get one of those Pandora Box setups with 1000s of games built in and Hdmi output. Available from various sellers for around £100

My kids were playing on the Street Fighter version in France a few weeks ago - €599 in a toy shop!
The new Star Wars one looks tempting but currently beyond my price range.

What's wrong with retropie? I've had numerous machines, from real hardware to pc and pi and not really sure you can tell the difference.

You cant his comment was pretentious.
Any recommendations for a Retro pie controller? I had a modded Xbox and the controller worked well on MAME.

You must be into weight lifting. I remember CRT and so does my back.
Retropie, LCD and scanlines overlay options suits me fine.

How often would you move an arcade cabinet around

Emulated effects are just not the same and lag.

If it's a bartop arcade and your wife is always changing sh@t about....a lot!

As for the scanlines, you must have better eyesight than me or something.
