LOL... Does anyone know what's in one of these?
Based on todays tech could anyone guess (Even know for certain) the power consuption.
I'd love one for a man cave shed which is powered by a power station for caravans.

Spec wise the Arcade 1Up uses a 17" 1280x1024 LCD screen.
It has an Allwinner A13 single core 1GHz CPU with a Mali MP400 300Mhz graphics chip and either 256 or 512MB of RAM. Also a 3w speaker.
Power supply is 12v 3A so maxium 36w
14.4w in idle and 15.1w while playing

Is there an affordable version of these with loads of different games on? Like £500 max, and not just a few games.

AT Legends Ultimate is a good step up in games and quality. This however, will cost a few hundred pounds more.

On the upside, fulfilled by Amazon - so delivery (next day) to your door.

I wish these things had inputs to allow you to play other games other than the 12 given.

You can buy kits to build a machine and then just run a raspberry PI as the system. Every retro game you can imagine.

Buy yourself one of these, owned this for about 25 years, through my back shop, still takes Jamma boards, got dozens left from the 80s and 90s, I have this also setup with a Dell PC in the back and can switch over to a Pi for 100000 games

You own one because you likely got it cheap 25 years ago… I doubt you would be buying one if you had to pay TODAYS money for it…

This is the one without a light up marquee yes?

I wish there was an Arcade1Up version with Bubble Bobble....never did manage to complete that in the arcade (I see other makers do it - but you're looking at possibly £1k+)

Rainbow Islands as well! Completed that on the arcades back in the day!

I got the Mortal Kombat one as a gift this year and I love it. Looks amazing in my games room and has a nice selection on it. Forgot just how much the computer AI cheats on MKII though

unless you're buying this for a small child, I wouldn't bother. they are still small (even with the riser), 2 player is "cozy" at best, and it wobbles about too easily. save your money and buy a better quality pre-built cab

I really can’t understand the appeal of these things, I am a hardcore gamer from the 80s and I love videogames! These cabinets are emulation devices, not the real ones from the past. I really can’t justify paying 300£ for a emulation arcade cabinets with one game!
    Avatar
Nobody's forcing you to buy one. Do you comment on all deals you "can't see the appeal of"? (edited)

Picked up Mortal Kombat at Costco Chester for the same price £299, have just found out mine is the newer 30th Anniversary edition. I assumed it was just a different region art package.

"Smyths is the Legacy version and Costco is the newer Legacy 30th Anniversary with new design, 2 extra games (Klax and MK3), light up marquee, Wifi Play and molded coindoor instead of just a coindoor sticker"

Their online price is £450 so they may have thought they were price matching Smyths
