Be fun for kids (and maybe some adult kids), but feels a bit limited for the price. I’d want to add a custom gaming system full of arcade games so it’d not be a one use novelty.
Reminds me of days when I went to the arcade for Street Fighter II etc!

Most folks will mod these to Retropie setups:

Don't do it. Join one of the arcade cabinet builder forums on Facebook and build something sturdy and full size.
Note to Wifey: This WILL fit in my Christmas Stocking.
That's a fairly basic cabinet ( and very few buttons ) for £240 considering you have to build it yourself. And it is not a full size cabinet either.

So not particularly easy to change it up to retropie

Also, is a monitor included? Doesn't look like it from the picture of the box

Description states '17” Colour LCD Screen'
I can't see how that model is easily changed to a retropie setup......it only has a couple of buttons.
Surely only worth getting one to mod if its got controllers for 2 people, bit limited as being one player only. Does look cool tho.
Anyone know of cheap diy kits that i can add my own monitor and pi into?

There are plenty of MDF flat packs on eBay - but most are for bartop style cabinets rather than full height. Plenty of YouTube videos as well if you want to build your own from scratch.

That's not quite so bad then.

But as others have said - not much scope for repurposing when there are only 2 buttons and a screen that fits a single player cabinet

Looking at this pic, I’d say it was ‘half-size’ not 2/3 size, unless of course the models are nine foot tall, like someone else mentioned.

Ideally this kinda cab would be best kept single player with vertical game lists like this one:

Controls are generally the first to be swapped out anyway mind. Modding deck for 2p is fairly easy as you would be adding usb encoders and rewiring it all for a pie anyway.

Just note it's 50p per game and you have to get a fat sweaty engineer to empty it once a week
So tempted get this just to put a raspberry pi in it

Arcade World and Bitcade for flat pack assembly kits. Use some old bits and you've got your own machine for roughly the same price as this (albeit more DIY time will be required)

Makes me sick seeing Americans getting them for $75 a pop. Wish we'd see that pricing over here.

Straight away I'd get Pac Man, Space Invaders, Turtles, Final Fight and Star Wars...oh and Rampage too, nearly forgot that one.

The Bitcade prices on their home page look quite expensive until you realise they are for the fully built cabinets ( which seem to be running better hardware than a Pi ) rather than just the flat pack stuff they sell

Their bartop + stand flat pack combo looks nice though

Big thumbs up for that photo as the main picture is so misleading due to size I honestly thought it was full size like the ones I played back in the 80’s
Cold, the original had buttons for movement not a joystick.
Get an even smaller fully working arcade cabinet, newwavetoys.com/pro…est ,I have the tempest it’s great! ,they ship to the uk . I’m getting a dragons lair one next year .

The original taito version had a joystick the midway usa version had buttons.

I'd like this afterburner cabinet. It'd have to be the full size though or i wouldn't fit my 6ft 2 ass in it

Has anyone got this one?, if so, what do you think?

I am tempted to buy.
Well on my Christmas list to Santa.....Shame I misspelt his name ...went straight to hell ( Satan / Santa ...same letters easy mistake to make 😜)

Not sure about the newer cabs, but a friend got the SF one from TK Maxx about a year ago and it it was falling apart in about 3 months. It did get a lot of play though to be fair.

Also, doesn't Turltes only have 2 buttons? 'Jump & 'Attack', not much point sticking a pi in it if you can only play 2 button games.
