Took me about 2 weekends to put it all together. The cabinet is basically empty, it's only got usb joystick cables, a monitor, and a raspberry pi in there.

You could and that looks nice btw. However for most people it would be beyond them whether on the woodworking or electronics side or both. Myself included I think.

If I had any room for it I would snap it up. Probably plugged close to the equivalent of £400 into it as a kid.
You are better going for the MK machine as it’s a newer model and has a number of improvements over these early SF2 cabinets
these machines are great for repurposing with a raspberry pi to run all the old arcade games - lots of videos on youtube describing how. Bad price however on this deal even if it includes the riser which normally is an extra.

It’s a great cab to modify.

There's kits you can buy that make it look pretty easy...

I watched a video and they just put a TV in the space with a basic pc hooked up, nothing too complicated.

Hold on for the four new ones that are coming

Buying four tmnt neca figures would be £100 so instead of looking at sixteen figures you can look and play on the arcade.

Having said that, the 1up cabs not having sanwa parts I'm not sure i could justify it.
I got this in January for £349 at smyths but it also included the matching bar stool, so cold from me.

What platform are you running it from, hyperspeed on pandoras box

I havnt got the room for the woodworking having a small house so I cannot even though I would love to. Great point and the reason i do not have my own custom cab. You cna convert one of these cheaply enough though.
If I was buying one like this rather than the kits I build I'd defo go for the 4 player Turtles Cab !

Ideal for modding to 20,000+ games with adding a Raspberry Pi, Hyperspin PC or Pandoras Box

maxmix
for modulation purposes i suggest you wait for the tmnt due to the 4 control layout but if you love super street fighter than obviously it is perfect.
Still got my fingers crossed for Time Crisis 🤞🤞
Considering this is RRP and previous sales have seen this go down to £150 at the likes of TK Maxx, I would suggest waiting until that inevitably happens later in the year, if you can wait.

$50 in Walmart USA.

£399.99 can't be justified here.

As much as I want it to be.

What improvements?

It has a better quality screen and joysticks. Also the MK machine also has stereo speakers where as SF2 is mono. There is a version that has a light up marquee but I don’t think this one does. You might find it has the PCB board ready to plug in a marquee upgrade.
Stupid price for the first and most inferior cab. I honestly think it'll be cheaper to hire a private jet to your nearest Walmart and buy all the cabs available there and fly them back.
Jimnik15/06/2020 22:06

It’s 4 player at under £100 each you’d be daft not to buy it.
41109957-fQSdJ.jpgonly really worth it if you want to use the shell for a build. £ 350.00 as stock is not worth it, the build quality is rubbish, and three games only. I got mine when argos went down to 225, I reinforced the internals and rewired for jamma.
Im sorry but I rather the tmnt arcade machine than the silver one. Yes got more games but other one looks nicer and can mod it later if want to

Is there a better 2 player one? I thought this was a good one to mod.
Unfortunately I would only be willing to pay up to £150, especially when you see what it goes for in the States!
Yes anyone can build a cab with 1000’s of games in but this is about nostalgia, I’d happily have a room full of them rather than my pi with 15k+ games on.

Difficult to say. The SF2 was the revised model. I would just open it up and check then return if not happy. There’s usually a serial number on the back of the screen
