Worth it for this alone, Crysis 3 looks amazing.

I think the idea is cheaper games here. I have a vita... Doesn't get used.

How are you running crysis 3 on this

The D-Pad is why I never got this. It is awful just looking at it. I read that somebody modded it, but didn't look an easy job.

If you're serious gamer looking for an entry to the android platform. This needs to die and some company, somewhere, needs to remember how to make a d-pad. They did it in the 80s..

And can a 3DS XL emulate pretty much every old school console? No, it doesn't.
I am a Nintendo fanboy, and I do really like my 3DS (had mine since day one, used it every day since Animal Crossing came out), but it's not 'much' better.

I'd consider this...if it wasn't almost 4cm thick.

Should be able to - run OnLive. Worked on the pS Xperia phone

so impressed with this.

bought two and both came today, surprised to see they come with a genuine archos case bundled in.

also whoever said this is 4cm thick? it's less than 1cm thick.

before update was buggy and kept crashing, but played for about an hour after the update and its great.

nice that it's charged with mini usb too and not some proprietary crap

awesome find OP, thanks

Yeah I wasn't expecting the official archos case to come with mine either, there was literally nothing anywhere about it. It's a really nice little bonus considering you cant just put this tablet in any 7" case because of its unique shape.

I am well happy with the tab so far, people who say its too thick are mad it is just the right thickness and weight, you really cant complain for £75 as far as I am concerned.

And omg yes, after having so many devices with proprietary chargers to get a device that actual charges from mini usb is surprising, plus I can use the bundled mini usb dc charger you get with it on my phone.

What games you guys been playing on them?

Original Poster

I have been mainly tinkering with a PSone emu on it, seems to work quite great actually. Played a bit of dungeon hunter too, it pre maps the controls to the physical ones which is nice. I need to sit down with it properly for a few days though to see what it can do.

Surprised this hasn't got much hotter. Have had this since launch day and it is an awesome device. Plays all android games at full speed including GTA Vice city etc. Runs every emulator with no problems. The controls work very well. The screen is nice and clear. Its a dual core processor with quad core Mali 400gpu. Micro sd for all your roms etc too. For £75 this is a complete bargain!

If you are into device hacking then I strongly recommend checking out the JUST FOR GAMING rom as it strips out all the non useful apps. Also gives root and ability to move game files to external sd card. If you are trying to install games that claim to be incompatible on the play store then check out "market helper" do a search on Google to locate. It makes the device think it is a nexus 7 so it can download all games.

Heh you know how people are around here, they will vote you cold for something like this and tell you to go buy an ipad/vita/3ds etc and then go on a hot vote frenzy for 2p off a can of baked beans.

Thanks for the tip on the cfw too, I will check it out.

If you have problems getting the usb to connect for the firmware flashing, try a different USB cable. I know it doesn't make any sense but this device is so fussy on the cable for flashing. Despite all cables work fine for normal file transfer etc. I tried 5 different cables until I found an original HTC cable that worked perfect.

I put the cfw on no problem and I must say it seems a lot better than others I have used in terms of stability and speed (and it seems to have solved the sd card mounting issues too). Thanks again for the tip!

voted hot even though I don't have a clue wtf you guys are talking about, now I'm off back to the bake bean deals cya.
