Argos - 6" Long Nose Pliers (Value Range) 5p

Just a cheap pair of pliers! Catalogue number 358/3517 - doesn't work online, not sure if this price is nationwide or local to us webbed-toed Fenlanders

These can be used for :

Opening bottles of beer when you can't find a bottle opener.
Turning screws when you can't find the correct screwdriver.
Plucking hairs, when you can't find a pair of tweezers.

... In fact, for 5p, probably the most multi-purpose bargain ever!

Not showing online, they were marked up at 50p on the shelf and this was the last pair. There were also some scissors, they may have been 5p as well but I was in a queue and didn't get a chance to find out

(PS - I will not be held responsible if you injure yourself while attempting any of the acts suggested above!)

I usually use tweezers for nasal hairs. These seem a bit "heavy duty"!

... cheap though, and they do the job!

Package and receipt, also showing the poor grammar on the box - 'Long Nose Pliers'

Did notice a rather contradictory message on the back too

Look good for de-boning fish. Seems appropriate given the OP's avitar.

Excellent suggestion!

you know its a slow day on HDUK when
top 10 freebies and vouchers have -negative heat scores in them
and
a pait of pliers gets 262 %, not on line, no store , no proof ( at least its not tesco!)
good for you chippytea!!!

which store?

Just wasted an hour and a half on this. Went to hammersmith, no stock, nearest stock ealing.
Went to ealing, they said it's a shop floor only item* and they didn't have any on the shop floor. That's after making me wait 20 mins.

Damnit that was annoying. Needed the pliers too!

*if you can't find a pile in a basket in store they dont have any, none in the back
edit: yes they are 5p if you can find any!

no proof

I'd assumed that when I added the photo showing the receipt and the pliers, it would be added to the first post, in a bigger format than the miniscule thumbnail at the top right of the first post.

I've got better things to do than pretend I paid 5p for a pair of pliers

... but did post it after stating you bought the last one oO

I hate to be a grammar Nazi, but it should be long-nose pliers. Otherwise they are just long pliers for your nose, which just sounds painful...

I'm normally a Grammar Nazi too, but I copied the title straight from the packet - no hyphen there either, so blame Argos

You were willing to waste any time at all on a potential saving of up to 95p? I'm not knocking the OP, clearly he got this himself and he is right to share, but making a trip to even 1 Argos, if you weren't going anyway, isn't worth starting the car for is it?

I feel disappointed, disillusioned, disgusted, disgruntled, disapproving, dismayed, disconsolate, discouraged, disdainful and disheartened that this deal, a pathetic little pair of cheap pliers, of which there was only one pair, has reached such a hot temperature.

I'm packing HUKD in for good.

Goodbye everyone.................http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-violent017.gif
